Recently I read a few articles regarding cow's milk and thought of switching to soy milk since cow's milk generally has lots of hormones, carcinogens, toxins, antibiotics and even pus. But then, when I read up some articles on Soy, even it has negative health consequences and there seems to be a lot of controversy. There's just too much of conflicting information on the internet and I am totally confused.
Almond milk and rice milk seem not to have much adverse effects on health except that rice milk is loaded with carbs and there are too few almonds actually being used in the almond milk that we may be better off eating the raw nuts.

I live in an area that has a large goose population, and the media is reporting the cities plan to oil and shake the eggs in the spring to try and stem the growth of the geese. Oiling the eggs clogs the tiny pores on the surface of the eggs, which basically cuts off all oxegyn and the gosling suffocates, shaking them breaks the yolk and cuts of the food supply. There has to be a better way.

I am asking here because generally speaking vegans and vegetarians are passionate about animal rights, and there is no other category geared towards that.

I maybe crazy, but that seems to be what everybody is saying on the British forum. They say that rice is high in carbs, so fattening and that indian food is full of oil and ghee, thus fattening. I thought is was very unfattening! what is the truth?

I have a 6 year old who loves chicken and 5 year old who only likes mac n cheese and a 2 year old who eats everything. I started Jan. 1st on a vegetarian diet and my husband started 2 weeks ago. We decided that meats are really bad and want our children to go vegetarain too. Any ideas on how to do this and make it fun and tastey would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I _like_ soy, tamari, sesame oil, etc, but just once, it'd be nice to have a stir-fry that wasn't an unsavoury shade of brown.

Any suggestions for non-chicken-stock (etc) vegetarian stuff I can dump on?

I'm trying to add tofu to my diet, but I'm really not a very good cook, and because I'm in college I don't have that sophisticated of equipment/types of food to work with. Are there some quick and very simple recipes with firm tofu that would work for me?

Okay, so my parents are really not that supportive of this because my mom doesn't want to change any of our meals up and she doesn't want to cater to my needs (such as not eating meat) Also, what are good meals for Vegs? I don't really like seafood. Or squash. Yuck. So anyway, what do I do about my parents and what meals? Oh yea, any suggestions on how to become one. See, the problem is, I like meat. And it will be really hard for me to totally stop eating it. So, any suggestions on ways to stop? yea, I know this is a long question, So, I'll thank all of you for answering in advance!

Alright so this semester I'm taking TONS of courses and sadly the only way they could fit it is to give me lunch every other day. So I was wondering if any of you guys have any quick cheap recipies? The thing is it kinda has to withstand being in my backpack for about I would say 4 hours. Any ideas would be great!

Often you use the fruit of a plant as a vegetable. When you do that, is then a fruit? Or a vegetable?

I'm a very picky eater, I'm allergic to any kind of bell pepper and soy cheese, but I LOVE tofu and am sick of the same old recipes (scrambled tofu, fried tofu, and tofu soup). I'm also a vegetarian, so, tofu is my source of protein.

if one of my sons friend came over for a Bar-B-Que and said he was a vegan i would slap some sense into his head and feed him the best steak i had on the grill and maybe that would clear his head up from all the brain washing his parents gave him

I am a vegetarian and, per somebody's recommendation, I eat products with flaxseed oil (flax cereal and stuff) to get my dose of "omega-3" but I am not convinced that it is really all that important. I've even done research and it just seems like something that--if I include it in my diet, good; if I don't, no big deal. Could someone explain to me if I need it that badly? Thanks!
