I would love to be a vegetarian, because I have heard really bad things about how they treat animals. Unfortunetly, at my age, my parents would think it is some kind of rebellion (Which is kind of would be, but it would be against cruelty to animals, not against my parents.)

I was wondering, is there such a thing as organic meat? What I mean is, meat that isn't treated with chemicals, where the animals aren't stuffed into cages and are allowed to be free and live happy lives?

I am looking for alternatives so I don't feel so guilty when I enjoy eating meat. Would it be in the organic section of the food store?

If a vegatarian eats no meats and a vegan eats no meat and no products of animals than what is it called if you eat nothing but meat.

If you're a ve'gan and you have a spouse who eats meat, do you cook the meat for them? Do you not, and tell the person that if they want to eat meat, they need to buy and cook it themselves?

I have morphed from a meat eater to a vegitarian over the last 2 months. I feel better, have more energy and would like to continue this. However, I am sick of all the foods I have learned to prepare. I'd like to cook with tofu but I don't like it plain. I try to avoid white rice, white flour, and anything loaded with bad carbs.

I've been thinking of ordering these instead of endless trips to the shops. Has anyone tried them? What's the quality like? Any companies you could recommend (I live in London)?
Many thanks!

I'm a professional artist, and the brushes I use are made with actual animal hair (sable; boar's bristle; badger, to name a few).

Natural hair brushes are superior to man-made (which is why every artist wants them, & therefore why they are so costly). My sister asked me if a vegetarian would use them, and I had to confess that I had no idea.

So, I'm asking: can vegetarian artists use high-quality (i.e., natural) brushes, or do they have to make do with synthetics?

I was a vegitarian for a very long time until I was a vegan but after a while of that I gave it all up. I only quit because my family decided to pretty much make me fend for myself because they didn't stand for my decisions to not eat meat. Is it ok to be apart of Peta and still protest against animal slaughter/cruilty even though I eat meat?

Are you a vegetarian? If so, how strict are you? Do you check every food to see what E numbers are in it, or as long as you can see nothing obviously meaty do you give it a go? What do you do if there is no vegetarian symbol on the box?

Please help me, vegans!
I am not a vegetarian or vegan but I have a friend who was veggie and her New Year's resolution was to go vegan. I want to support her.
A few of us are going over to her house to scrapbook and in the past we've normally done potluck for snacks. Her being veggie was not a problem, it was easy to make stuff. But now that she's vegan I know that I can't use any ingredients that came from anything that used to have a face.
I wanted to bring over something other than plain fruit or veggies. I'm not opposed to a hard recipe, and I live in a city so I can go get ingredients easily. Please give me some cool ideas or recipes for snacks (ideally something that does not need utensils to eat). Ethnic foods like samosas would work, we all like to try new stuff.
Also, what is a good resource for seeing if prepared foods (e.g., Fritos) are vegan?
Thank you so much!!
