No, that's a stupid myth spread by some ignorant meateaters.
Normally because they don't want to have a sensible discussion on the subject and think they are being clever by spreading misinformation.

i've been veggie for 27 years and am never ill, overweight, don't take any supplements..

Couldn't be more wrong, sorry but vegetarians are much healthier as a group. A vegetarian or mostly vegetarian diet staves of a whole host of diseases including many cancers, autoimmune diseases, and the newest health hot button, obesity. Some research even points to excessive animal protein as consumption directly causing liver cancer! From personal experience as a vegetarian of about 4 years i have had at most one minor illnesses a year (cold or light flu) and NO major illnesses. Read "The China Study", you'll flip right around.

Actually, vegetarians as a group tend to be healthier than omnivores, with much lower overall rates of obesity, heart disease, diabetes and many cancers.

There are, of course, some vegetarians who eat horribly imbalanced diets and become ill as a result, but there are meat eaters who do the same thing.

Becoming a vegetarian was my resolution. But I heard you can get ill or sick, Im worried about that. I eat to much meat and while I stopped eating, I serously felt so bad for the animals and Im happy I did this and wish I did it earlier. Ethics.

I was a vegan for over 10 years and was only ill about twice. Before that I had at least 2 colds a year.

Eating meat has been PROVEN to cause heart disease, high blood pressure, prostate cancer, diabetes and a slew of other things. That's on top of mad cow disease, e-coli, salmonella, lysteria and intestinal parasites.

What illness has eating veggies ever caused??

Better question is... "why would you wanna eat meat??"

No we don't get ill faster, just like meat eaters have to eat certain things to stay healthy... vegans and vegetarians eat what they need to stay healthy minus the unhealthy meat and animal products... duh.

im a vegan and i havent gotten sick for the past 2 years. meat rotts in your colon, because we have intestines disigned for digesting plant. meat digests quickly and then rotts, carnivores have short intestines for meat. we have long intestines cuz it takes plant material longer to digest, plus meat is extreemely bad for your body. all the myths your hear are made up by fat lazzy *** americans who are addicted to meat, so they make up excuesses for them selfs!
