There's tons of recipes out there to make bread and cake without eggs and milk. There's even a new book out called Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World. Subsituting milk in recipes is generally very easy as it can be substituted for soy milk or almond milk, rice milk, etc. The subsitution of eggs all depends on the recipe. For quickbreads and muffins, it's easy to substitute applesauce for eggs. You can usually get away with substituting cornstarch mixed with water for eggs too. There's even a product called Ener-G Egg Replacer that you can use in place of eggs in baking.

Some breads you find in the supermarket actually do not have any animal products in them, but cakes, not so much.

Can vegans eat cake and bread and baked goods? Yes, if they're prepared correctly without eggs, milk, honey, and animal products.

strict vegans do NOT eat any animal products. You are right... no stuff with eggs and milk in it... but some vegans are a little less strict and will eat bread and cake when they are out with their friends or at a potluck, or whatever. The next step after a vegan who draws the line at animal products, but eats stuff cooked, is a RAW Vegan... and they don't eat maple syrup, for example, because it is heated to a very high temperature during the processing. There are also Fruitarians, who only eat the fruits of plants (that would include cucumbers and avocadoes and tomatoes) and other sorts of vegans.

All the best!

Most bread you buy in stores isn't made with milk or egg, I just read the lable. Cakes on the other hand, all premade cakes seem to have eggs and/or some kind of dairy in them. A lot of cake mixes don't though and can be made at home with egg replacer. Theres a lot stuff out their thats vegan friendly, things most wouln't think of. Ritz crackers, junk food cereals, yummy Entemanns fried apple pies. Most of what I used to love I still eat but modify into a vegan recipe. Go to peta.com for more info, order a FREE vegetairian starter kit to :)

Vegans do not eat ANY animal products. That even includes honey. As far as vegetarians, some people consume eggs, milk, honey, etc... It all depends on the person. I myself eat eggs, dairy products, and honey.
