Last time I made a rum cake, the recipe said to wait for the cake to cool. (I did that--maybe not long enough.) When I went ot put the glaze on, it ran all over the cake, in the center and on the sides. My question is: How long do I wait for it it cool before I put the glaze on? AND, the recipe says, to poke holes with a fork and then drizzle on top. I did that...but it still ran over. Can anyone give me suggestions as to how to get this glaze to soak in better? Once you put the cake on a plate(tray) you cannot move this cake. I want it to look pretty for a church bake sale. H E L P !

I am unable to find a spring form pan for the particular size of cheesecake I'm going to make. Thus would like to know if anyone can advise me how to remove the cheesecake from a normal pan without inverting it over and ruining the cake. Would the patchment paper tear if I lift the cake out the pan?

Thanks!

I am making soup stock using pork bones for the first time. Someone suggested that I wrap the bones in cheese cloth and then, boil it for several hours. The cheese cloth would prevent any bone from getting into the stock. Is this the correct method on making soup stock? Also, where can I buy cheese cloth? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I need a good recipe to demonstrate in from of my class for a speech thing. If you could please post a recipe easy, fast (within 4 minutes) & delicious.

And by the way, those of you that just post recipes that you copied & pasted from the internet recipe sites, you will not be voted best answer..

My culinary world was turned upside down last week when I was told I have ulcers. Pretty much any recipe or food my family and I had on a regular basis is off-limits right now.
I'm running out of ideas, but cheating on this bland diet is a painful no-no.
Does anyone have any ideas? I'm desperate.
