I'm talking about recipes of dishes from China, not the sort of sweet and sour cantonese stuff we get in the UK. I want to make MaPo tofu, Yuxiang qiezi, or anything from sichuan or hunan cuisine.

Can anyone help me out? Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

I want to bake cakes and cookies from scratch. I've done this before and followed the recipe exactly and the cookies came out bad. Soo I'm thinking not all recipes are good online since anyone and their grandma can share crappy recipes.

Soo if you guys know a good website, please send me a link. Something not commercialized, something you've used, something people can share their reviews.

Does it matter what pan I use? I know you get what you pay for, do you think that matters?

Muchas gracis, shukriya, arigato, terima kasih and thank you so much for your answers, I appreciate it!

I have a cake recipe that calls for 1/8 tsp. of ground mace. I would probably never use it again. Is there anything else I could use in its place. It is so expensive to use just once. The other ingredients are: White cake mix, van. pudding, nonalc. eggnog, veg. oil, eggs and nutmeg.

I'm looking for some very simple, but delicious recipes for my lunch/dinner.

I'm really bored of Tinned food and Sandwiches.

I'd prefer them to not take more than 30 minutes to cook/make if possible. But I don't really mind on this.

Things I don't like: Cucumber, Lettuce, Beetroot, Pickle(s), Mustard and BUTTER/MARGARINE (I don't like it if it's spreaded on something or if I can taste it. It's okay if it's cooked with something).

All help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Oh dear, I've promised my girlfriend to cook eggs benedict for christmas breakfast because I'm a lazy @rse around the kitchen. It looks simple enough but how easy is the sauce to do? Any tips would be handy. I'll probably be too drunk to cook anyway.

I (tried) to make chocolate chip cookies, last night. I followed the reciepe on the Tollhouse package exactly ( I measured eveything, for once). Had the oven temp set. tpo 350. Lined the pans with parachemnt paper One tray came out like rocks, the other tray just spread out really thin. I stopped at the two trays, I put the dough in the refrig.

What's happening??? How can I make the cookies come out normal, like kind of puffy but soft????

We are planning on having Roast Beef, Twice Baked Potatos and Butternut Squash.
Would like to have something with Chocalate.
Any suggestions?
This is only for 3 people, so a little goes a long way.

I just got one of these and used it 3 times last night and was very impressed. We made french fries, chopped onions and apple slices and looking for creative ways to use it. Has anyone shredded cheese or have any other ideas for this product?

If you had a wish what you change? I have a list.
1. Less RACHEL RAY! Why does she need so many shows? She is not that interesting.
2. Less Emeril. I am tired of BAM! Or at least have him do something different. I would love to see the behind the scenes stuff in his restaurants. Maybe something about how he decides whats on the the menu.
3. More Ethnic stuff. They could devote entire shows to the different cuisines of Asia alone. And I mean like really cooking foods from the area. Not just watching the timid white person gawking at the fish with its head still on!
4. Where are the people of color? If I see Al Roker chasing down BBQ ribs anymore I will scream.
5. More Alton Brown. Food science is cool!
6. No more food factory shows.(Unwrapped)after 3 or 4 times who cares how machines make food, lets try how humans make food!
7. More shows on cooking gourmet
8. Shows on vegetarian food that would appeal to people whether they eat veg or not.
9.Tony Bordain!

It's my job to cook the x-mas feast this year and I am sick to death of turkey and ham. I need another idea. We live in the south so there isn't much that is off limits. I will be feeding around 15-16 people and we all like to eat. Please help.

I'd like to make a trail mix that has some chocolate in it. Not just a mix of chex and chocolate chips, something a little more exotic.
