I always used to do it, then I read a book on pasta which said it doesn´t help at all, logically, oil floats and doesn´t mix with water so it won´t mix with pasta either, but my girlfriend puts it in, and so does all her family...and...and...that´s really it, someone shed a little light on this...pasta

We live in eastern Washington and enjoy making homemade bread, but as it is now the bread doesn't rise very well and would make a better doorstop than food. Tried adding gluten to the mix tonight but again no go. Really think the problem is the yeast, which just doesn't rise as much as it used to the good ol' days (last year!)

And why?

Not smoking or BBQ, but grilling. Looking for something with great tasting recipes, that are easy to prepare, and don't use anything I couldn't find at a standard supermarket.
