My mom came by and dropped off some vegetables from the farmer's market just now. I said I didn't want them but you know how parents are.. "no, you take it" and then that's the end of that.

So I'm stuck with them. I hate them, but I'm not going to throw my mom's hard earned money in the garbage.

The sauce is a peach color and the consistency is about like a ranch dressing.

I cook the rise by boiling the water & trowing a way the water. The rise is great & not sticky...I keep it for the night in the refrigerator & the day after it is NOT eatable!

What can I do to keep it good for eating? Should I keep it on fire during the hours that I keep it outside the refrigerator? Help me please!

I'm tired of eating breakfast with peanut butter, or liver spreads, mayo on my bread. Can you suggest something simple to prepare, yet delicious and healthy to start my day right? If possible, I want something different :)

a bacon cooker? NOT a microwave thing. One of those metal triangle ones that plugs in like a griddle with a thermostat, and has a grease tray and a triangle lid to make nice flat bacon. A model number or brand would help. I have looked at Amazon, Yahoo Shopping, Overstock, etc.

NOT a microwave thing.

THERE ARE NONE ON EBAY. DON'T SAY EBAY.

My parents normally make all their own bread - they don't like supermarket bread, and they do it all without a bread-maker. It is usually my Mum who makes it, but she has gone away on a conference, so it has been left to my Dad. Unfortunately, everytime he makes bread the outside is like rock and the inside turns out stodgy, not light and fluffy. Does anybody have any tips for him? My Mum can;t work out what he's doing wrong, I don't know anything about bread-making as I'm never at home!

Whatever the recipe, I'll try it or cook it if it contains mushrooms OR blue cheese OR chilli. I always have them in my fridge, they are my favourite things to cook with.

What do you love to cook with? Not finished dishes but the basics, please ... plus any ideas to convince me away from my own 'top 3'!
