Mom would make her fruitcake in October and store it wrapped in cheesecloth until Christmas time. I believe that instead of using liquer in the cake itself, she would set a glass of whiskey down in the center of the cake just before wrapping it for storage. Anyone out there have such a recipe?

I was just thinking that I never use my broiler! Sometimes I'll use it to make garlic bread, but that's it. Does anyone else use the broiler? Are there any good recipes that require broiling?

I'm diabetic and don't do well with sugars first thing in the morning, no cereal, donuts, or fruit. Also, a grab and go or microwaved breakfast would be great. I've been eating breakfast burritos at different fast food places which I love, but they're too expensive and take too long to cook at home. When I do eat breakfast at home it's usually leftovers from supper the night before. Any suggestions?
