I remember growing up at home at eating meals cooked with bay leaves. Mostly pork chops or simmering steaks with gravy made on them but also a bay leave cooked with it and later removed. Does anybody have a recipe for this, i don't know when to add the leave, when to take it out and in general I don't know much about it other than it tasted good. Any help would be great.

I'm a college student and living on my own for the first time. What are some things that are easy to make and relatively inexpensive? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It used a pork tenderloin sliced partway through, stuffed with sauerkraut and perhaps some seasonings, brushed with Russian or Thousand Island dressing (I forget which), tied up, rolled in bread crumbs, and (obviously) roasted. It made a wonderful-tasting tender, juicy roast.

If you have done this before, please describe in detail how you did it and let me know if I can contact you with other questions about the process. I have a grocery bag full of them and access to more if I can find an effective way to remove those darn spikes!

Also, the seeds inside my tunas are very hard. Should I scoop them out or will they get soft when cooked?

I don't care for buttermilk that is called for. Heres the recipe:

2 medium cucumbers {peeled, seeded and cut into pieces}
1 qt. nonfat buttermilk
2 chopped green onions with tops
1 T. dill weed
1 t. salt
1 T. lemon juice
pepper to taste

Mix all ingredients together in a blender. Chill. Serves 8. Perfect for this hot summer. Garnish with a tomato rose, parsley and a dollop of sour cream.
I am not concerned about calories just want to serve a rich creamy soup.

I bought "Allison's easy bake yeast", but that didn't work at all (guess it's ONLY for bread)! Do you know any good brand? I'm from France, so I'm not used to the packaging. Also, can I find them anywhere? Only found the Allison's stuff at Sainsbury's (but maybe I didn't look well).

I have TONS of spinach that will go bad before we can eat it all, would just as soon not feed it all to my compost pile. Canning is out as I don't have a pressure canner and I really don't want to give up my freezer space.
So that leaves dehydrating. I figure I could use it like a spice while cooking, maybe mix into pizaa dough, what else could I do with it? Any ideas?
