Hot 'n Spicy Chicken Soft Tacos

Ingredients

(4 servings)

1 1/2 lb Skinless, boneless chicken breasts
(cut in strips, no more than 1/4" wide)
1 Whole med. size white onion, cut into strips or diced
2 tb Red chile powder
1 ts Curry powder
1/2 ts Ground cumin (optional)
1 Pressed garlic clove (or 3/4 tsp. garlic powder)
1 ts Salt (salt to taste if desired)
1 ts Lemon and pepper, or 1 tsp. grated lemon peel (optional)
3/4 c Water (or wine)
2 tb Olive oil
1 tb Vegetable oil

Instructions

Recommended Fillings & Wrapper: Flour Tortillas, Cheddar Cheese, Tomatoes Lettuce, Onion, Salsa. Preparation: In glass or stainless steel bowl combine all ingredients except olive oil and vegetable oil. Mix thoroughly to spread spices over chicken, water should be completely absorbed, refrigerate for 1 hour. After refrigeration add Olive oil, and stir until chicken is well coated with oil, spice aromas will be noticeably lighter.
Heat Vegetable oil in non-stick pan, and add mixture, frying on medium heat. Cover until water has separated from chicken, and is boiling. Leave uncovered, on low heat, to simmer until almost all water has evaporated. Total cook time is less than ten minutes, do not overcook.
Place prepared mixture in center of flour tortillas, add cheese and other fillings as desired (suggestions above). Fold in half, or roll like burrito. Top with beans or spanish rice.
Serves 4-6.

slice some boneless breasts up and then just use some salsa or picante like san antonios,, i cooked in the hospital at the army post in san antone and thats the best stuff or use a mild green chile sauce any style is good , warm the tacos on a flat sheet in a 350 oven for two minutes after you roll the chicken in some butter and some cumin and some paprica then add some onion diced small and red or green peppers and then when the veggies turn color toss in the chile sauce or the salsa -Pace -then warm the tacos and turn the stuffing off then roll them up ..

I like to use boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut up into strips and cooked in a frying pan. Then I buy Old El Paso fajita (or taco) seasoning, and follow the directions on the packet to mix it into the chicken.

Or if you like a sweeter taste, cook the chicken and add your favourite BBQ sauce, such as Heinz or Diana.

Depends are you using breast fillets or ground chicken breast? Anytime I use chicken though no matter how I am cooking it I always use a bit of poultry seasoning. But for chicken fajitas use:

Chicken breast, cut into strips
Rotel Chili's and Tomatoes
Taco Seasoning (I use Ol El Paso)
Chili Powder
Tabasco Chipotle Hot Sauce.
Green peppers
Onion Powder (hate onions.)
Corn Oil.
Fry it all together in a skillet
You can try the same thing with steak.

Boil boneless skinless chicken breasts till cooked then shread.

Once you've done that you could try tossing the shreaded chicken in a pan with a little butter and some taco seasonings (I've never done that before- just thought of it, but it sounds good!)

I use canned chicken, just because it's quick. I'm not good with fancy sauces or spices...I just stuff it with cheese and salsa.

the easiest way is ground skinless breasts. Just cook it up with the same spice mix you'd use for ground beef tacos.

chicken brest (with out bone): cut into slices

chicken breast (on the bone) after cooking it shred it with a fork.

i would suggest getting some chicken brest (bone-in), and cook with salsa, cumin, and hot peppers.

Then use the sauce from that.
