SOUR CREAM SUBSTITUTE

1/4 c. non fat milk powder
1/2 c. cold water
8 oz. uncreamed cottage cheese
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1/4 tsp. salt

Mix together milk and water and blend well with cottage cheese. Mix in lemon juice and salt. Keep refrigerated until needed.

Sour Cream: 1 cup of cottage cheese blended with 2 tablespoons of milk and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, or 1 cup of yogurt equals 1 cup of sour cream.

sour cream gives you different taste, and cottage cheese blended milk and lemon juice, or yogurt gives different taste.
