Traditionally, no toppings belong on a pizza. The pizza Margherita (which was the original pizza--since because of its endorsement from Queen Margherita--that started the pizza fad) only has tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, basil, and olive oil. As such, one can not argue what belongs on a pizza and what doesn't since, traditionally, nothing belongs on a pizza.
Having said that, I believe that the right toppings for a pizza are the toppings you have on the pizza you are enjoying now. (I personally like sausage, meatballs, pepperoni, and extra cheese; but, I'm weird like that).
Hope that helps.

I make ALOT of homemade pizzas, and you can put pretty much anything on them. The best that I have ever made, I made on the grill and it had a white sauce (butter, garlic, parmesean cheese and just a little bit of Italian dressing) and eggplant on it. It was AMAZING!!! LOL You can try different things and see what you like, but any combination goes like the one above, all the way to desert pizzas...if you would like some personal recipes, contact me, and I will send them to you :)

On regular pizza I would say cheese, pep, mushrooms. On white pizza I like tomato's, onions, and green peppers. And if I want a change of pace I like Cordon blue pizza and buffalo chicken pizza.

TUNA!!! I made tuna pizza the other day and it was great! I like all the traditional toppings as well, except for pineapple. That's not natural on pizza.

Use your imagination - but not, not, not pineapple!
I remember in an Italian restaurant in Hong Kong, the first words at the top of the menu were: "We do not serve spaghetti and meatballs - spaghetti and meatballs is not an Italian dish."

If your going for the original pizza it should be a Margarita but i think you can have anything, my fave is chicken, sweetcorn, frankfurters and tons of cheese! But my brother likes frankfurters and baked beans.
I think its one of those that depend on preference.

My favorite traditional toppings are sausage, mushrooms, onions & black olives.
I make an awesome bbq chicken pizza using bbq sauce instead of tomato sauce, grilled chicken breast (pulled), mozarella, onions & mushrooms.

Whatever someone wants and likes is what I say. To each his own. But for me whatever kind I have it has to have heavy mushrooms and double cheese. Oh! And absolutely and Positively NO anchovies.
