Crisco recently released its new Zero Grams Trans Fat All-Vegetable Shortening, which is similar to regular Crisco in its use. Both regular Crisco and the trans fat-free shortenings contain a blend of vegetable oils; both contain 12 grams of fat and 110 calories per serving. The main difference? Zero Grams Trans Fat Crisco contains no trans fats to regular Crisco's 1.5 grams.
Trans fats are formed when vegetable oils are hardened with the addition of hydrogen in a process called hydrogenation. Trans fats are a concern because they've been shown to raise the bad blood cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein or LDL) and increase the risk of heart disease.
Crisco is just one in what I expect to be a flood of new trans fat-free products in the upcoming year. If you use regular Crisco, you should give this new trans-fat-free variety a try.

As with any aerosol-based oil, it does actually has a calorie count. It is minuscule, considering the serving size, though. FDA regulations allows a manufacturer to label a product as no-calories if the actually amount of calories per serving is less than one (which would be the case since the average serving is just a quick spray and because--due to the hydrogenated nature of shortening--the fat has one of the lowest calories profile of any lipid).

Only water and foods that takes more energy to digest than it provides (such as celery or other fibrous vegetables) are truly zero calories.

Hope that helps.

They are full of crap, it does have calories but technically you are using such a small amount, it is under what they have to report. You would have to use 10 times to probably use a tsp. The whole can probably has a 1/2 of oil in it and I guarantee you a 1/2 has calories in it as well as fat.
