Seems I've tried a hundred ways to hard boil an egg but they almost always smell :( We like making a dozen at a time but don't want the fridge to reek. Any hints?
We usually place a dozen eggs in cold water with an inch or so extra. Bring it to a boil and turn it down to simmer. 30 minutes from start to finish and into the cold water then to the fridge. They are consumed within two days but in the mean time........
Cook faster? Slower? I'm lost.

I'm having a few friends over for dinner and a movie in the back yard. I'm not sure what to cook as a main dish; I have some Asian appetizers in mind so far, but don't know any good Asian main dishes. I'm also considering Cornish Hens with wild rice and potatoes (baked with tomatoes, onions and parmesan cheese), but don't know what appetizers go with that.
Can I mix Asian appetizers and Cornish Hen main dish, or is that too much for the taste pallet? What's a good Asian main dish or what appetizers are appropriate for a Cornish Hen main dish? Should I scrap both ideas and start from scratch, if so any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

I'd like to have several recipes.... Tandoori Chicken, Curry Chicken, Coq au Vin, and finally... when in Louisiana I ate (not sure of the spelling) merlaton dressing or melaton dressing.... it was soooo good but I don't even know what a merlaton or melaton looks like and whether or not they even sell them where I live.

Does any of you eat a boiled egg (not hard bioled but soft, the way in Italy and in other countries is called "à la coque"). I eat hard boiled ones with any sauce BUT the soft boiled with sugar only, otherwise I leave them where they are! Unfortunately I seem to be the only one in the world who likes soft boiled eggs with sugar!
