I brought 2 lbs of cooked shirmp at Sam's on Sunday and want to know if it is still good for dinner tonight. It had been steamed and then frozen. It has been in my fridge since Sunday afternoon. Can we still eat it?

OK, it was steamed and then frozen...then you put it in your fridge on Sunday...Yeah, it's still good. If you were dealing with over 4 or 5 days, then I'd say trash them.

If it smells like ammonia, though, don't eat it at all, because that would mean it was bad before you got it. But if they were steamed fresh, then you shouldn't have anything to worry about there.

you need to be sure that it has been kept at a proper refigerate temp and not let to stay at room temp for more than 4hours without being returned to a refrigerated temp. Since it was already cooked, and it has been in the fridge, it sounds like it should be fine to cook. enjoy!!!

remember though: most of the time when food goes bad it doesnt always have an odd ordor... so smelling doesnt always do the trick!!!!

Smell it; has it been defrosting in the fridge and/or sitting in the defrosted water....I would probably say it's OK, but would throw into a pot of salted, boiling water for a minute then toss into an Iced bath with lemon slices....then do what you will with it! But if it smells, ditch it!

Yes, it is good for up to 5 days. If it smells sour, then it was not fresh in the first place.
Hey, the rule of thumb is: If in doubt, throw it out. If yo poor, eat some mo.

Smell the shrimp, if it smells ok then there shouldn't be a problem.
Just remember the saying

It should be fine, but if you feel uncomfortable with it maybe you should ditch it. You don't want to make a dinner that you will be too nervous to eat.

If frozen at -20C, can be kept for 3-6 months.

The shrimp should be safe to eat. Just be sure to rinse them.

Should be fine, but the general rule is if it smells like strong fish....it is bad.
