I have tried and tried, it always comes out tasting like flour, or is too thick. My Mom used to put flour, salt, pepper, and milk in the skillet, didn't measure anything, and it was the best chicken gravy ever [except for Kentucky fried's old recipe]. I know to cook the flour, make a roue, but it still doesnt work. And I do know how to thicken a stew with flour and water shook up in a jar.

I need a perfect icing for cookies which holds color well. I hate royal icing because it is hard in consistency and hard to work with. Any other creamy color-accepting icings?

I am looking for ways to cook all my meals for the week on Sunday and then store them so they taste fresh when I eat them Monday - Saturday that week. I do not want to freeze them as I believe that will impact the taste.

I want a method where the meals will be ready-to-eat or ready-to-heat and safe from bacteria. I understand that they might not taste 100% like they would if consumed Sunday, but I would like to try to get at least 90% there.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

I want to make lemon pepper fish. The walleye has been frozen for a week or two and is currently thawing. I want to make this dish for dinner tomorrow and am having trouble finding an easy recipe. I have a quick and easy one which is made with chicken but you can't pan-sear fresh fish. Does anyone know a quick and easy recipe without any fancy ingredients?
