I want to make lemon pepper fish. The walleye has been frozen for a week or two and is currently thawing. I want to make this dish for dinner tomorrow and am having trouble finding an easy recipe. I have a quick and easy one which is made with chicken but you can't pan-sear fresh fish. Does anyone know a quick and easy recipe without any fancy ingredients?

Walleye bakes really fast, so just lay out the fillets on a baking dish, brush on a little olive oil, and sprinkle on pepper and lemon zest. Bake 325 for 12 minutes and chow down.

Who said you can't pan sear fresh fish? Bring it to room temp and pat dry with a paper towel. Sprinkle with a little kosher salt and pepper, add a squeeze of lemon juice, then brush with just a little olive oil. Sear in a pan on medium-high heat for 30 seconds. Using a thin, flat spatula, flip the fish. Remove the pan from the heat and cover for about 4-5 minutes or until the fish is just flaky. Squeeze on a little more lemon juice and garnish with a little chopped tarragon or dill and a lemon wedge.

Lemon slices or lemon juice, plenty of pepper, some olive oil or regular cookng oil.
Coat the bottom of the pan with a thin layer of oil, set to medium heat, add fish, turn after 3 minutes then add the lemon slices, top with the pepper. Cover and turn heat to low and cook for 7 more minutes. Depending on the thickness of the filet the time might vary. It should flake apart when you stick a fork in it.

Lightly oil, salt and pepper the fish. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over it, then bake or broil. Serve with sliced lemons

Optional: add garlic and/or ginger before cooking

Walleye makes excellent fish-n-chips. Why not batter and deep fry? (Other than the obvious health reasons, but once and a while isn't going to hurt you.)

I would just marinate it for 30 minutes in lemon juice- then dredge it in a salt/pepper mix and saute it. I would saute it with slices of lemon and olive oil.
