I'm going up to my boyfriend's parent's camp and I wanted to bring a nice dessert, any suggestions? (BTW, we're bringing a cooler, so I can keep stuff cool)

Here is an easy dish to make and depending on how far your driving, and how hot it is, it probably wont need to be in anything other then a cooler. And this is the BEST tasting stuff....YUMMY It is something that I make for our country community dinners. And it has never gone bad in the east texas heat during our dinners.

Ingredients:

3 pkgs of cream cheese
2 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 stick butter
2 pkgs crescent rolls
cinnamon

Unroll 1 pkg of crescent rolls in bottom of oblong baking dish ( for crust)

Mix together cream cheese, 1 1/2 cups sugar, and vanilla in a bowl ( you might want to soften the cream cheese for easier mixing)

Pour this mixture on top of the unrolled crescents in pan

Unroll the other pkg of crescents on top of the mixture.

Melt and pour the butter on top of pan

Mix the other cup of sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and then sprinkle it on top of the butter.

Bake at 350 degrees for approx 45 minutes or until golden brown.

I have a cabin and when we sit in front of the fire we make "Pudgie Pies" which is two pieces of bread with apple pie filling inside and cinamon on the outside. You need a special fire pit sandwich maker thingy which you can get at Gandor Mt or any camping store! Try any fillings, but I like to use it for grill cheese!!
