I have one box of mix sitting in my cupboard. Angel food cake alone is kinda boring & strawberries are out of season, so the whole strawberry shortcake thing is out. What are some good recipes that use angel food cake as the main ingredient??? Thank you in advance!!!

My roommate and I used to make mac-n-cheese in this pot-type thing that boiled water in college. My brother is moving into a dorm after the 1st of the year and I wated to get him one for Christmas, but I can't remember what they're called. I know about the electric tea-kettle things, but I just don't think it was one of those. It looked more like a pot than a kettle.

We are having a pot luck next Thursday at my office and I am supposed to bring something. In the past I have brought things like taco dip, sweet and sour meatballs and sausage balls but I want to try something different. Does anyone have any mouth watering recipes that would be good for a company potluck? There will be about 15 people.

I made some egg pasta dough and covered it with platic wrap for about an hour and a half. Thing is I forgot and left it out all night. I checked it and it's soft and pliable but I'm obviously worried about germs and such. Anyone know if it has to be refrigerated?

In particular, for those of you who watched the holiday special...What would your three dishes have been?

After a few days of thinking about it (and yes, I know, they only had a few minutes), I have decided that mine would have been based on a journey through the holiday season:

First Course - Thanksgiving
Turkey roulade, with a stuffing of sourdough bread, artichoke hearts and pistachios, served with a butternut squash waldorf salad.

Second Course - Christmas
Garlic and horseradish encrusted filet mignons (a twist on prime rib, really), served with a potato and brussels sprout gratin (with a nice, bright green ribbon of brussels sprouts visible in the gratin).

Third Course - New Years' Eve
Cioppino served alongside a spinach and winter-citrus salad.

And if I had to do a fourth course, it would have been a play on Valentine's Day. Strawberry puree and champagne spritzer, served in a chocolate-rimmed glass.

I'd love to hear what you'd have made!

I normally only drink medium strength beer (about 4% abv). I start to feel a bit merry anywhere between 7 and 8 pints. I've usually had enough to drink by the 8 pint mark and so I seldom get drunk.

The paste has a texture and consistency like Hummus [(Hommus) it's thick; not runny], and includes raw garlic, oil, lemon juice and salt.

But I think another ingredient is added to give it a whipped-like texture. Also, the dip (paste) is vegan vegetarian friendly. There are no eggs, butter, mayo, cheese, or any other animal products.

Does anyone know the extra ingredient that binds this mixture or have a recipe similar to what I described?

(I suspect a stabilizer like xantham gum or corn starch, but am not sure. Please HELP!)

I'm having my vegetarian relatives for Christmas. My husband and I will not be eating meat that day either. So does anyone have a good suggestion of what I can make.

I want it to be something like one main dish with a few side dishes of veggies, salad and rolls. The main dish is what I am concerned about. I want it to be an easy no fuss meal. Something I can make ahead of time would be great. I'm not crazy about cooking on holidays so I would like some ideas on something easy but tasty that I can make that could be a tradition each year.

There will be six people at the table. The vegetarians eat dairy and eggs but noting with chicken or beef broth nor anything with jello in it. On of them wont eat fish but they all like mushrooms, cheese and pasta.

My fantastic daughter, my adorable son in law and our 2 precious grandsons, 8 & 7 years old, are going to be here for a week and half with us and I am lost, for the first time, in coming up with menu ideas. I know during this time we will be having turkey and ham but beyond that need some suggestions. Usually do not have any problems with this but have had health issues and just can't seem to come up with some ideas to include the boys. Please give me some menu ideas. I want to be able to concentrate on having fun and keeping my attention on all of them without having to be tied to the kitchen while they are here. Maybe some quick menus or even ones that can be prepared ahead and quickly finished up for the meal might be nice. Also some breakfast ideas would be helpful also. Thank you and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
