"Organic" has nothing to do with not having animal products in it.

Jello is not vegetarian.

It's made out of collagen, which is a protein, from animal bones and skins. It is fat free.

The only organic replacements that I know of are vegan ones. These are usually made from seaweed or algae. The common vegan replacements are 'agar' or 'carageenan.' Horizon makes one brand. You can buy organic gelatine products at Whole Foods.

Also, if you want 'agar agar' powder to make your own jello-like product with, you can get it really cheaply at Asian grocery shops. You just mix it with juice or your other ingredients and it works a charm.

Read the back of a Jell-o box, artificial colors and flavorings with geletin and unless its 'diet" there is also high content of sugar. No animal fat is used.
Organic jello can be home made with low acidic type fruit juice's and packets of gelitin. Great for hair and nails to grow stronger btw.

Gelatin is made from animal PROTEIN not fat. You can get Vegan gelatin, just ask at a health food store or go on line.

Be aware that Kosher gelatin is not necessarily vegan. (We all learned that in the Emes brand gelatin scandal...)

Jell-o has an ingridient called gelatin. Gelatin is made of boiled animal hides and hoves. I don't know if there is a vegeterian jell-o. Sorry
