I watched a raccoon get run over (just the head, sorry if that's TMI), and so I took it and made Raccoon jerky. I know, it sounds redneck, but I didn't want to waste the meat. It was really good!!

I have been fixing meals from different countries for my nieces and nephews every Christmas to introduce them to other types of cuisine. This year, we're going English. They responded the typical way Americans do when English/British cuisine is mentioned...they recoiled. However, I have been to Great Britain several times and although it took some getting used to, I had several things I thought were quite good. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the names of them, except that they were a bit odd to my ears.

Can you suggest uniquely English that would be relatively easy to make (I am, unfortunately, rather culinarily challenged and not confident enough to try anything complicated) with ingredients that would likely be here in the US? I am looking for all aspects of a meal, including appetizers, main course, and dessert. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you, and happy holidays to England from the Missouri Ozarks

Im scared to eat sandwhiches. For the past four months I have only eatin oatmeal, brown rice and veggies with tofu and fruit. And I lost a lot of weight and now my mom wants me to gain and she says I have to start eating a sanwhich everyday or so for lunch. I have Sprouted flourless bread in the freezer and I know its healthy and I dont know why im scared to eat a sandwhich.

Personally I love a nice warm cup of cider. Dickens makes a great one. Get a nice fire going. Snuggle next to the fire with a nice hot Dickens' Cider. Brings a smile to my face everytime. What do you like to have most?

I just saw this answer in Yahoo Answers and posted it below, do you believe this woman?

My husband and I roast our nuts that way. When I feel a fart coming on, my husband runs and gets a match and I will bend over and pull my panties down right in front of the nut dish. He strikes a match then holds it in front of my tush. I let it rip and the flame produced, perfectly roasts every nut in that dish. The nuts are absolutely delicious when roasted that way. During the holiday season, the family and guest just rave about our roasted nuts.

The brand is Kitchen Aid. I'm buying this as a gift for someone, they seem to measure the quality though by how heavy the cookware is. So how am I to know what is better?

There is a 12 piece set (including lids) coming with 1.5, 2 and 3 qt saucepans, 4 qt saucepot, 3 qt saute pan. It is all stainless steel, extra-thick, impact-bonded stainless steel and aluminum full cap base with break-resistant glass lids. All is oven-safe to 400F/200C

The other one I am looking at is also Kitchen Aid. 18/10 stainless steel, heavy-gauge encapsulated bases, oven safe to 400F and the set includes: 1,2,3 qt saucepans, 6 qt stockpot, 10" saucepan, 2 qt steamer insert. Saucepans and stockpot have lids.

Both have great reviews. So how do I choose? If price means anything, the first one is reg. $600 and the second is reg. $379

I've had a bag of frozen peas that I bought on impulse and haven't used yet. What is a great recipe you'd reccomend, that you've actually tried? Please no dairy or eggs.

Are there any small kitchen appliances or gadgets that you use constantly? Are there some that you hardly ever use?

For me, I use my garlic press at least four times per week. I also use my wine opener quite a bit. :-D lol.
I love my 4-sided grater, but I don't use it all that often.
:-(

Serious answers only. An EASY, but FLAVORFUL recipe is preferred, that is MEATLESS for any part of the meal (appetizer, entree, side, or dessert). Please include either a link to the recipe or type out the entire recipe in your answer. Thank you so much!
