I'm throwing an 80's prom party for my birthday this year and I need some great ideas. We'll obviously have 80's music and everyone will dress in 80's prom dresses and tuxes. I need other ideas though! I was thinking of serving the punch "spiked" and maybe decorating one of the walls with a TWISTER game. Any other ideas? What was your 80's prom like?

I am having a party for my sister who is turning 16. She hasn't had a party in two years and I want to throw her a good party to make up for lost time. It is a disco themed party. I am considering getting martini glasses and serving juice concoctions in them. Do you parents out there think you would approve your child drinking juice out of a martini glass at a celebration? There will be no alchohol, no tolerance policy, it will be only 20-30 kids so I am not trying to throw her a big, crazy party. Just a nice disco sweet 16. With martini glasses . Ok or not?

What sort of dinner sounds good for a first year marriage anniversary? And what did you have to eat on one of your special occasions?

Okay so, I want to have a sweet sixteen party and my mom is letting me have a maximum of 35 people over. It would be on a saturday night and I would have pizza, snacks, etc. What time do you think I should make it and for how long? I also don't know what we will do....I have to have the party in the basement and everyone is pretty much friends with everybody else.....so do you think we will all just socialize or should I plan something??!?! I am so worried, I have never really had that many people over and I don't know how it will turn out!

I need help fast please!

THANK YOU!

I have heard very conflicting statements that state either time for this tradition to be done. In many other cultures they have food to be eaten on the eve, midnight, or the day. Does anyone know the "real" way this southern tradition should be celbrated and why?
Thank you

Me & a friend do dinner every Wednesday just to get together and catch up. We started a theme of trying a new cuisine style everytime to keep it exciting... so far we've tried indian, fondue style, all american basic... what are some other ideas for an authentic dinning experience? And if you are in Maryland, throw some names out there please :)

I'm having a family party at my house for New Years Eve. I'm new to entertaining and owning a house. What should I have to eat? I was thinking pizzas or a mexican bar, but I just don't know. I was going to go with this one pizza place where you take the pizza home and bake. It is cheaper and people like it. Well, some of my family didn't like the idea. My Aunt actually said I should go to this one local pizza place.....it is really expensive. I'm expecting 11-13 people.

I am preparing food for a birthday party in January for 100 people. I have 6 inexperienced servers to carry out the plates and 2 additional helpers in the kitchen. My biggest concern is plating the three items (salad, pasta, peppersteaks). I want the food to be served hot so I don't want to plate too early, but then I don't want guests to have to wait 20 minutes to get their food. What would be the best use of my two kitchen helpers? Overall, what is the best way to cater this event?

Thanks for your help!

I am supposed to be entertaining tonight at 7:00 (five hours from now). I bought a frozen turkey and put it in the fridge to defrost 4 days ago!! It is STILL frozen. I am so frustrated I could scream. Any ideas of ways to quick-thaw it like within the next hour, without using the microwave? (It wouldn't fit in there.) It's a 14 lb. bird if that helps. The outside is fairly thawed, but the inside is still frozen.
