My sons's 1st birthday party is tomorrow at 2pm. We're only having 2 famalies come with 5 kids, 6 kids total, including my son. Their ages are 1 (2), 2, 3, 4 and 7.
I need a good idea for food before the cake. I don't really want to order pizza because pizza costs waayyy more than what it's worth now. I need good ideas that the kids will like and also adults if they choose to eat too.
I know 2 of the boys are very picky. 1 of them says he's "allergic" to almost every food in the book besides peanut butter and jelly and macaroni so I need something fun but also adult friendly, and also something that can be cut up and given to the 1 year olds. Any ideas?

My sister is turning sixteen soon, and she's having a bunch of friends over, and I volunteered to help with the menu and serving all night.

I need some ideas though! And some creative ways to serve them. Theres about 15 girls, and we don't have too much money to go buy stuff. And the majority of it has to be able to be done in advance, because we'll be busy party day.

Any suggestions are welcome, the best ideas get 10 poitns!

I decided to throw a surprise 40th bday party for my boyfriend. The problem is.. His birthday is Jan 25th. He works for a fire dept and his group works the 26th, so i wouldn't want to have it on the day his whole group works. I would have a hard time getting him to take off. The next weekend which is the 2nd, his group works on sunday, so my next option was the weekend of feb the 9th beacuse his group is off the entire weekend and so i am. Alot of halls were booked straight through january and are very expensive on saturdays. I was lucky to find a hall for free to use on the 9th of feb. In your opinion is the 9th of Feb too late to have a surprise birthday party for someone who's birthday is really the 25th of jan? I am just pressed for time and the weekend close to his bday was booked and the whole work issue. And i felt as though it would be hard for families to go during the week at night.

Any ideas how to serve a stir-fry for a dinner party? It seems like food that shouldn't be cooked ahead of time, nor presented in a serving platter on the table (rather individual bowls). How has anyone else done this?
Thanks!

If so, how many people and what will you be serving?

I'm having two couples (plus myself and my fiance). And I will be serving lobster, steak, garlic potatoes and a salad with strawberries, walnuts and gorganzola cheese, along with homemade bread.

Wine, cheese and champagne too!

I'm going to a party straight from work tomorrow night and need to bring it with me to work tomorrow morning. Any ideas on what could stand up to a whole day?

I was thinking of cheese straws but have never made them before but seemed easy enough.

If you have recipes that would be great!

I have friends coming over for New Year's Eve so I need cheap party food ideas. I would like things that are easy and cheap as people will probably be here for a LONG time celebrating the New Year.
