I am going to a retirement party tomorrow night and would like some ideas about what to bring as in finger foods. Are cookies ok? Or would something better like a veggie tray?

I told my husband to invite a specific friend over for lunch on Sunday...he really got in the spirit of inviting and now I discover that we are having about 10 people for lunch!
I'm rather tired of turkey and ham for the holidays, so I was thinking of doing something totally different...Indian Food? Does that sound good?

Any ideas, suggestions, hints greatly appreciated? Specifically, Indian desserts?

I am throwing my friend a surprise birthday party for his 21st birthday and I just need some ideas for entertainment. Maybe some games I am already considering hiring a karaoke dj but I don't know what else. We are all Christian and I am throwing the party at our church so we can't do anything crazy and none of us drink. Any help would be wonderful! Thanks ahead of time! :0)

I'm a marine wife and me and my bff ( another marine wife ) are throwing a Christmas eve party for the marine guys. Were having a bunch of appetizers and stuff, but I want to make it more fun. Guys what do you think... girls too, but what would be some fun festive things we could do that wouldn't be completely retarded to them.

I'm going to a holiday party this weekend and I need to bring an appetizer. I'm actually going to bring stuffed mushrooms, but one person doesn't like mushrooms so I'd like to bring an additional appetizer. What do you suggest?

Please help, but don't get me deleted. I have to make a cake tomorrow for a bachelor party and I don't have a mold and don't want to buy one. I was thinking of using a pyrex 1.5 quart bowl with tinfoil inserted to a "round" shape. I have no idea if the foil will hold up.

As far as decorating the "cake", I have to get frosting that isn't an alien color and make the tips stick out a little. Candy?

I'm having a bachelor party and was fortunate in getting Rosie ODonnell to agree to jump out of a cake.
Can someone recommend how many boxes of cake mix I will need and do you think $600 will cover the cake mix?

I'm having a few girlfriends over for a holiday get together this Friday night. What should I make? I am not a very good cook. I am a housewife with all the right tools, just not such a good cook. If not making it myself, then what can I purchase(Costco, carry out etc) and then make a few sides by myself?

My son is turning one in late December. We are planning a small get together with family(10-15 people). We're doing a Tonka truck themed party, and this is the first time my family will be together in 5 years. Im looking for ideas for his party, small, meaningful things that he can look back on. I don't want him to be overstimulated, but I would like to have activities to get my family involved. Any suggestions?

This is my second year having mine and my husband's friends over for a "cookie party"... basically to indulge in cookies I've baked for the holidays.

We are pretty tight on money, so I usually require people to bring their own alcohol if that's what they want. But I WOULD like to have some kind of fun, christmasy beverage (maybe non-alcoholic?) here for them to have. Maybe a punch or some kind of chocolate drink?

Any suggestions/recipes would be appreciated!

I am having a party for my little girl...she is turning one! I am having brisket and sausage but I am not sure how many pounds of brisket and sausage I will need. So far I have a little over 50 people coming. Right now I have about 14lbs of brisket and 7lbs of sausage. How many pounds of each do you think I will need? I am also having baked beans, potato salad, chips and cake.

I am planning what I call a "pampering party" where I and all the ladies that are going to be in the wedding get together to do girly stuff. Well I am having it on a Sunday afternoon around 3 (just a way to get all of the BM's to know each ther) and well since it will be late enough in the afternoon that they will have all eaten lunch I decided to serve dainty finger desserts (you know stuff you don't have to dive into with a fork and plate, since hands will be polished, faces masked...ect.). Looking on the internet for ideas hasn't proven to be easy...any good ideas for small finger pies, cakes, cookies, tarts, frozen treats? (think outside the box of muffins and cookies...think sophisticated and dainty) recipes for them would be great too!
