I love both, but for me Egg nog is like a holiday thing and hot chocolate is forever!

Hot chocolate is better for entertaining guests in the beginning of the evening, I've learned, because they're still chilly after coming back in from the cold. Once they've been inside for awhile and have been warmed up, they'll appreciate the egg nog!

hot chocolate because u work hard to make it and the process is long but at the end its worth it, while egg nog is just pour it into a cup. A cup of hot chocolate is your personnal cup of hot chocolate and no one else can make an exact replica of the you have made.
