Easy one here:
1 8oz package cream cheese, room temp.
1 jar dried beef (located on canned meat aisle), diced.
1/8th cup minced onions.
1 to 2 tablespoons garlic
dried parsley

Mix together all ingredients except parsley. Form into a ball and chill for a couple of hours. Once it is chilled take it and roll it in the dried parsley, (keeping the ball shape). Place in serving dish and let come to room temp before serving.

Even easier:
8 oz cream cheese
8 oz. sour cream
8 oz. cool whip (you can use french vanilla flavor if you like)

Cream cheese and sour cream together, blending well. Fold in Cool whip. Chill. Serve.

Both of these are very good and can be served with fruits, veggies, and crackers.

Now for some thoughts for you. Dips are extremely simple to make. Take cream cheese and mix ranch salad dressing packs into it, you can also use yoguart for this. It is all about finding your base (I prefer cream cheese due to added flavor) and adding something you like into it. Do not be afraid to try something new and different. My daughter makes a spread by adding canned figs into her cream cheese and everyone loves it. Use your imagination and just go for it..but remember this...Less is better...meaning the fewer ingredients the better the taste and the easier to make..Hope this helps you. If I can be of additional help to you, please just email me.

Yes. If you don't want to make them yourself (can sometimes take a lot of time and ingredients). Know how many people you expect to be serving. Check for allergies. Shop for container dips i.e. Salsa, Ranch, Bruschetta, & then there are mouses like meat pate's of all kinds as well as seafood (salmon, shrimp, crab, lobster) as well as cheese dips and spreads. Fresh bread, toast, crackers, crudites, and fresh cut up fruits are always great because a lot of people (women especially) like to watch their diets and not go overboard during the season but there are super fruit dips too. All depends on your budget. Even if you buy them be ready for the event and get all the serving dishes, knives, forks & spoons, napkins, glasses & cups for the non drinker's tea, coffee, hot chocolate & egg nog. Never try to give the designated driver alcohol. There is usually someone in the group will try & put some in the egg nog (you can buy already made as well). Good idea to have condiments available as there is always someone who wants hot sauce, peppers, salt, pepper, or brown sauce - I have one who must have ketchup on everything. Pickles are good too; hot or sweet or dill. Have a wonderful season.

I make a mean Deviled Egg spread, that is a hit at my parties. Boil 8 eggs until hard boiled, peel and place eggs in food processor and process until smooth then add enough of the following to make a smooth spread. Remember as with all recipes if you don't like an ingredient leave it out and add one you do like.
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup prepared mustard
1/4 cup vinegar
Tabasco sauce to taste (they are after all deviled)
salt and pepper to taste
(paprika is sprinkled on top of the toast halves or whatever you decide to spread it on) My mom would put a little caviar on top of the toast, so yummy.

My family loves my BLT dip.

1/2 sour cream
1/2 light mayo
Real Bacon Pieces, not the crunchy ones
Shredded Lettuce
Diced Tomatos

Combine sour cream, mayo and bacon. Chill. One hour prior to serving add lettuce and tomato. Mix. Serve chilled. I buy Baked Tostito's for the chips to go with the dip. Yummy.

There's an excellent one on epicurious.com that I've used several times around the holidays. It's a hummus with parsley oil. It's easy and pretty fast.

It's basically canned garbanzos, lemon juice, tahini, olive oil,and garlic whizzed up in the food processor. Then in the smaller bowl in the food processor it's just whizzing up olive oil and fresh parsley. Put the hummus in your serving bowl, float the oil on top, and sprinkle with toasted pine nuts.

I've gotten rave reviews for it, I highly recommend looking it up.
