My sons's 1st birthday party is tomorrow at 2pm. We're only having 2 famalies come with 5 kids, 6 kids total, including my son. Their ages are 1 (2), 2, 3, 4 and 7.
I need a good idea for food before the cake. I don't really want to order pizza because pizza costs waayyy more than what it's worth now. I need good ideas that the kids will like and also adults if they choose to eat too.
I know 2 of the boys are very picky. 1 of them says he's "allergic" to almost every food in the book besides peanut butter and jelly and macaroni so I need something fun but also adult friendly, and also something that can be cut up and given to the 1 year olds. Any ideas?

cake and ice cream. make sure the ice cream is soft: ie left out of the freezer before it served to the smaller children. we, my wife and i have always served cake and ice cream. you do not have to get elaborate @ a child's party. most kids are there for a small serving and to "rip" open the presents. have fun and do not stress about the day. the party does not have to be adult friendly. it is for your small son-----the one year old. put him in a high chair, give him a piece of cake, soft, partially melted ice cream and get your camera ready. it will be a good topic of conversation when he brings his fiance home for you to meet in 20 years.

I was just going to suggest peanut butter and Jelly sandwiches, cut up in 4's with the crust cut off. Kids like what I called pigs in the blanket. Its where you take refrigerated crescent rolls and wrap them around a hot dog and bake. As far as the adults, almost anything would work for them. Most grocery stores have foot long hogie sandwiches. Those are always good with a salad. HAVE FUN!!!

How about fairy bread? Or you could make penut sandwiches and cut them up with a star cookie cutter to make them more interesting.
