How can I tell which rice will make "sticky" rice in my rice cooker? I used to live in Japan and love that kind of rice. Now minute rice or other similar ones just taste horrible to me. I know this will sound ignorant, but I saw that my grocery store had some rice without any English on them so I stupidly thought they would be sticky...asians eat sticky rice right (that's the ignorant part...don't mean to be racist...) and it wasn't sticky at all. So, whether it's in English or not, does anyone know how to tell what rice is sticky? I've bought three different brands now and still don't know what I'm looking for in a bag of rice...

Does anyone have a recipe for a dry chutney made from Curry Leaves? This is a speciality of Mangalore Konkanis.

Thanks!

There's a Chinese restuarant where I buy fried rice quite a bit and the rice has a slight orange tinge.
Am wondering whether that would be because tumeric is used or saffron? Am planning on making some like how the restuarant makes it but of course I don't think the restuarant would hand out their recipe.
Are there any other spices or ingredients that can be used to give the fried rice a bit more flavour?

I know it sounds like a dumb question. But I asked my dad to get me California rolls and he came back with real sushi. Can you actually eat raw fish?

I saw a chef make sticky coconut black rice and it looked really chewy, not like porridgey rice pudding. Any hints? I have black glutinous rice, with no idea how to use it

I have eaten a lot of chicken the last couple weeks at the chinese restaurants in the food court at my mall. Anyone else who has done this knows that the chicken you get there doesnt quite look like normal chicken. However, like anyone else I just ignored that because it tasted good.

Well I was at the grocery store yesterday buying chicken breasts and happened to see some packaged chicken hearts and gizzards which struck a very high resemblance to how the chicken looks that I had been eating at the mall the last couple weeks. Is that indeed the same chicken used at those places, only breaded and fried? Or is it just a coincidence they have the same shape and whatnot?

Thanks!

Hello if you don't devein it you're eating poop!

I notice @ some Chinese restaurants (in TX where I live) the kung pao shrimp is NOT deveined but their jumbo garlic shrimp is. WTF? Anyone know why?

I buy my shrimp peeled AND deveined & sometimes precooked!
