Method ..as I remember it..Take an enamel plate-half fill with malt vinegar-cover with sliced cheese-grill till melted and bubbling-eat off plate useing a fork. Best with freshly baked bread..

Sounds like Welsh Rarebit, except that is usually made with beer, not vinegar.

great idea- I'm going downstairs to make some now.
Will have to use different vinegar, since malt vinegar not so common here in the US. except at 'long john silver's' fish n chips shops
