Is there anyway to make a mango ripen faster?

When you eat a "hot" salsa and it "burns" your mouth, is the actual temperature in your mouth becoming hot from the salsa? If not, what causes the feeling of burning?

I have tried multiple recipes but none are what I like. I prefer a sweet tasting sauce with the carrots without a lot of chilis. It's usually orange in color. Help me!

Short version of a long story - I have lost 18 pounds in the last few days - mostly due to stress. That is getting under control - but my problem is that I am having some MAJOR PROBLEMS with finding something to eat.

I have found that I can eat veggies - somewhat - and not upchuck - but literally EVERYTHING is bothering my stomach, I mean EVERYTHING. Meat is most def. not an option at this time.

I do know that the one seizure med that I am has that effect - but I don't think it would be to the point that everything is coming up the way that it is.

I need suggestions to get some calories into me that I can keep down. Any and all help appreciated.

My roommate's parents are coming up for thanksgiving and it's been decided that I will cook the turkey (my roommate doesn't like to handle raw meat). We got a simple menu together (corn, mashed potatoes, greenbean casserole, etc etc)

And then I'm told they like giblet gravy. I can find recipes, but none really tell me where the giblets are. I'm sure I can deduce the liver and heart (thank you high school biology) but I've never seen a gizzard.

And then I don't know what to do with them. Or the rest of the guts (just toss em?). Nor do I understand the "neck" aspect. Is it just the meat of is it meat and neck bone?

And then there's stuffing and dressing to consider and basting (brush or baster?). And there are a ton of recipes, but what would you recommend?

In general, I need to know what to do after I get the bird thawed and out of the bag before it can go into the oven. (for the record: 14lb whole turkey)

I'm American but I don't know what is considered authentic American food... I mean all I see is fry chicken, burgers, and all that junk. Also in my state theres a lot of different cultures of foods that are Americanized. SO I am confuse what can be considered our food.

I got pen pals in Japan asking me and they say that they wanna eat like us Americans. Pfft at least they got pretty healthy authentic foods... I mean we got mostly fast foods here so what can I tell them? Well my family sometimes has New York steak. I mostly eat meat, veggies, and rice all togehter every day because my mom can cook.

Thanks for reading.

I can't have gluten, so I bought gluten free corn muffin mix at the market
the ingredients are:
corn meal
white rice flour
bakeing powdwe
and salt

it says to add 1/4 c. sugar, 1 1/3 c. lowfat buttermilk, 1 egg, and 6 tablespoons melted butter

I would like to lighten up this recipie, I have some pumpkin puree, I can make apple sauce quick, we have all kinds of oil, and i have sucant to use in the place of butter.
I was thinking 1/4 c. sucant
1 cup pumpkin puree
spices
1/3 or 1/4 cup fat free milk
2 egg whites
3 tablespoons canola oil

what do you think??

We may be cooking this for a school project on traditional foods in Spain.
Is it delicious or just plain gross?
My group can make
- tacos, with cow tongue as meat
- churros with thick hot chocolate with a hint of cinnamon
Which one would be better and more traditional??
Does anyone have any good recipes for either??

I simply boiled fresh store bought mushrooms, boiled until soft, broke them up with a potato masher, seasoned and thickened. This is the second time it happened. What am I doing wrong?
