Short version of a long story - I have lost 18 pounds in the last few days - mostly due to stress. That is getting under control - but my problem is that I am having some MAJOR PROBLEMS with finding something to eat.

I have found that I can eat veggies - somewhat - and not upchuck - but literally EVERYTHING is bothering my stomach, I mean EVERYTHING. Meat is most def. not an option at this time.

I do know that the one seizure med that I am has that effect - but I don't think it would be to the point that everything is coming up the way that it is.

I need suggestions to get some calories into me that I can keep down. Any and all help appreciated.

Actually, was giving serious thought to going veggie before all this came about - my only hang-up being Italian sausage, I addicted but was working thru it.

Reason I posted this here is that I have only been able to keep veggies down - but eating only thin potatoes mashed into a soup like mixture for a few days doesn't seem all that healthy.

Will give a shot at the ginger - which I already have - maybe that will make it so that I can keep things down.

I also already am going to a doctor - recently released from the hospital even.

cristelle - Been branching out into the canned Amy's soup today - so far, it has stayed down. But fruit on its own just isn't staying down. Instead I drank my soy milk with banana already in it and it has stayed down.

bovin - been doing the mouth rinse thing. Not doing anything with any sort of yeast in it at all. Drink lots of water though.

Julia - yes, really sick. found out that I have peti seizures and they placed me on the meds for them - did good till I forgot to take them for a few days, repetative seizures one after another for four hours.

My stress - man playing around online with someone else while telling me something totally different

and -

past issues in my life that I was starting to address.

It just all hit at once - within an 15 hour period pretty much.

My stomach is really only adapting to a few select veggies - found that Amy's tomato soup was not one of them :(

Well eat something light to start off saltines, a broth soup nothing creamy, try like chicken, vegetable broth, even ginger snaps soothes the stomach, but definetly see a doctor soon. That type of eating habit is not good for you, with or wothout stress.

Hmm. Yikes. You sound really sick. I'm glad that you have been seeing a doctor. What did they say?

Try some fruit. Eat a lot of white foods. Saltines, mashed potatoes, rice... they're bland and will make sure you get some calories. Avoid spicy and oily foods, and whole grains aren't the best right now. Try crisp foods with a high water content. Apples are great, watermelon...

You can try milk, but that upsets some people. And it's not vegetarian, but Jello might be good here. The calories are empty, but hey, they're calories.

Avoid alcohol, carbonation, caffiene, and salty stuff to cut down on dehydration.

try some of the amys brand vegetarian soups brands, crackers, melba toast, bagel crisps and pasta ( a simple pasta with maybe some steamed vegetable in it... protein shakes can give you some added calories such as those from jamba juice or a juice bar in your vicinity. Soy ice cream is very tasty and has the added caloric value and is healthy. I hope you feel better soon... o and you doyou do need soem fruit too so pick one you lik e like apple wedges or orange slices,,,

I find that rinsing your mouth with diluted, fresh lemon/lime juice, or sometimes even smelling a lemon or lime, helps keep nausea down. Don't add any sugar to the juice. You can drink it if you want.

Are there any other things you're taking? Brewer's yeast would give me intense nausea for an hour or two.

You should also keep your fluid intake high. Dehydration causes nausea.

Why don't you try the BRAT diet? (Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Tea)...
