I thought wine was supposed to taste like grape juice with alcohol? I was watching www.winelibrarytv.com and the guy explains a wine "with the taste of dirt, grass, etc." and then he says he likes it. What the hell is up?

What's the best all purpose Whiskey to keep on hand? I'm not a Whiskey drinker but at parties I've hosted I've had requests for Whiskey. So it's time to stock a bottle for such requests, but what type? There is Irish, Canadian, Bourbon, and Scotch both single and blended malts. If I'm going to stock one bottle what should it be, and what brand? Mind you I don't want to serve my guests rot gut, but I am on a budget so there not getting Jonnie Walker Blue Label any time soon at my place.

The second part of my question would be, if I were to stock two different types, what would the best choices be?

why is the life expectances increased so much now that we eat such a huge amount of processed, junk food?

if you die at 68 of a heart attack, people try to blame your diet and weight, but if you died at 62, 100 years ago they would have said you lived a full life. do you really think that if you stop eating all processed and junk food , you get to live forever?

I like to buy bread in quantity, and freeze. I use it up quite fast, but no matter how long it's in the freezer, it always comes out hard. Is this common, or am I doing something wrong?
