So, I'm considering a vegitarian lifestyle, but I work out a lot and am concerned about my protien intake... any advice? I'm a 26 year old female, 5'7'', 133 lbs. I workout 6 days a week for 1.5 hours a day (which includes a 5 min. jogging warmup, 25 mins of strength training, 40 minutes of cardio, and then abs and stretching).

I don't care for cheese, but I'm great with soy products- will soy/peanut butter/etc. provide me with enough protein?

Thanks for your help!

Brand name foods and products
Off-brand foods and products

It depends on the quality, but I like name brands. I check for sales.

I don't want something where everyone has to sit down together at one time. Maybe something where you get clues to solve a mystery when you arrive and you have to meet the other guests and ask them questions.

I need some help. I have a de-thawed whole chicken for dinner tonight. It's 5.8 pounds, how long will it need to be cooked for and at what temp (in the oven)?? Also, we just moved in here and I don't have an oven roaster pan or anything like that, the only thing I have is a big Pyrex glass pan, would that be ok cook it in?? I wouldn't be able to cover it or anything. Ah, help me out!

I'd like to learn a little about Tofu. I've heard good and bad about it and would like to get some opinions from people who've tried it.

What's the taste like?
What's the texture like?
Was anyone surprised at how well they liked it verses how bad they thought it would be? Or visa versa?
How is it best prepared?
Etc?

I'm not a vegetarian but I'm teaching myself to cook and from what I've read, tofu seems like a pretty flexible ingredient. I'm just a little hesitant to try it as I'm sure some can relate to.

Thanks all!

I wanted to try some wines with steaks or meats to see what it tastes like. I have never had alcohol with food before and don't know what it tastes like. I sometimes buy hamburger meat and make hamburgers and just eat the meat by itself. Will wine go good with that?

For some reason I got chives and scallions mixed up in my brain and bought chives for a deviled egg recipe that called for green onions. I'm thinking chives may actually be better since they're smaller and the egg filling won't be as chunky, but should I change the amount I'm using? Do chives taste very different?
