It depends on the quality, but I like name brands. I check for sales.

I think it depends on what exactly you're buying. If it's a staple item such as sugar, flour, salt, etc - then the store (or off brands) work just as well.
If it is something with a larger quality issue, such as butter, sour cream, breads, etc then brand name products tend to be a little better.

You usually get what you pay for. Checking for sales is the best way to go. You get quality and value.

The entire issue also resides on your personal taste; you should try different brands of a product and see what you like best. Sometimes different brands that aren't as well-known surprise you! :)

Have a great day..

Depends on the item, some of the store brands are just as good, some are even made by the same manufacturers, a lot of the time you just pay extra for the name. Pays to shop around, if you are less picky about some things you can save money and buy the ones in brand names that are most importanat to you.

There are some things that I must have brand names for, and some not. It all depends on the item. I have tried store brand and off brand products, and some have been really good; some not so much.
If I have a coupon, or there is a sale on items that I really like, I buy more and store them for future use.

I usually buy brand names. There is a huge difference in the quality of many items. If I'm going to take the time to cook something, I want it to taste good and have a proper texture. You really do get what you pay for, I agree.

Some store brand items are ok though, it depends on the item, and what I'm using it for. Sugar, salt, flour, etc are all the same. Several types of canned fruits and veggies can be interchangeable, if you're cooking them in something, rather than eating them alone. Bread is usually good enough, though a bit quicker to go stale. I usually buy store brand or off-brand dairy products, since there is little difference. Milk, butter, cheese, yogurt, cream, etc.

I usually by name brands, but some things like baking supplies I'll buy store brand...you can't really taste a difference between brand name and no name sugar, so might as well save a little money

I buy store brands 85% of the time since they're basically the same as brands. But there are certain brands we can't skimp on. Safeway instant mashed potatoes taste like cardboard. Cheap mac & cheese tastes like nothing. Some soups have to be name brand. And I can't part with Tillamook extra sharp cheddar.

I get a mix of both. Some things just taste better in the name brand.

Both. If I'm entirely honest, though, I tend to prefer brand name foods. There IS a taste difference.

Pretty much brand names. I'll go with store brand for things like instant rice, paper towels, but really not much else.
