What is "straight edge"?
I vaguely remember Kevin Smith saying something about Jason Mewes (Jay from Jay and Silent Bob) being a "straight edge kid".

Straight edge (sometimes abbreviated sXe) refers to a lifestyle closely associated with hardcore punk music. There is considerable debate over what constitutes a straight edge lifestyle. The most widely held definition involves practicing at least some degree of abstinence from alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. Some views may also include abstinence from caffeine, following a vegetarian or vegan diet, and abstinence from various levels and forms of sexual activity.
Well, I don't like punk music, don't do drugs, I do drink on occasion, smoke (tobacco) a few times a year, am a vegetarian, and I like ****ing.
It would seem my edges are bent.

I'm vegetarian, and at 50 I think I'm too old for the "straight edge" label.
However, I haven't used alcohol or recreational drugs for more than 20 years. I do like hard core punk sometimes, but I tend to prefer reggae. I have some friends in ISKCON (Hare Krishna) and I have read about Straight Edge having some connection to that.

uhm.. you mean staight as in sexual orientation??
I am.. so are all the vegetarians I know..
Nothing against gays.. I just don't happen to know any.. I do know tons of vegetarians though!
Oh and if you mean clean living, I don't smoke, drink, I'm remaining V until my wedding night, and I've never tried drugs. Shoot, I don't even cuss! LOL..
I did try cigarrettes once, just to satisfy my curiosity. Bought a pack, smoked about 7 cigarrettes during over the space of a week, and, curiosity satisfied, I threw the rest away and never touched a ciggy since. Didn't really have a desire to be a smoker before that either, but I wanted to see what it was like anyway..
I took a sip of wine once or twice, thought "Man, nice cold welch's grape juice tastes SOOO much better" and never desired alcohol..
I'm as straight edge as you get..

Well, I do like me some punk rock, I don't drink or do drugs, I don't consume caffeine except what's naturally occuring in cacoa, I think sleeping around without committment is immoral, I don't smoke, and I'm strict vegetarian. So you can call me whatever you'd like.

Well, I'm a strick vegetarian if that's what you mean.
If you mean sexuallity wise I'm straight. Engaged too! Gay and Lesbian friendly though. Not homephobic.
If your talking drugs...I'm not going to go into details but I do more than just experiment....fom time to time....
I'm quiting smoking next month. YUCK worst thing I ever picked up. And severly addicting too.

I'm fourteen.. I don't eat meat, I don't drink caffeinated beverages, I don't smoke, I don't like alcohol, I don't do drugs, and I don't have sex... Even though half that stuff is illegal for my age, I know people who do it anyways... So yeah. I guess I'm sort of a sXe vegetarian.
