i eat ice cream and other milk based things so i know i'm not lactose intolerant!

I'm a new vegetarian and I've started reading the book 'Fit for Life' which advocates the macrobiotic diet. I have a question about food combining--the concept is confusing to me. Supposedly, you are to eat only one concentrated (non-fruit or vegetable) item at each meal because eating two or more is too much of a stress on your digestive system. But my question is, would a black-bean or veggie burger count as more than one concentrated item, since it is made up of egg whites, soy protein and other things? And would you be able to have milk and cereal? I am clueless and I want to be sure that I am following the guidelines of proper food combining!

Thanks :)

Hi,
I have prepared a chicken (baked) using spices and it came out too spicy.
What can I do to the chicken now to reduce the spiciness ?
I don't mean serving it with a side like rice, I mean putting it in some souce or cooking it some more... Something of that sort...

For the filling we are using ricotta cheese, Kraft Italian crumbles (mozzarella, provolone, romano, and asiago) and spinach. We're using Chunky Mushroom Ragu for the sauce. And topping it off with Parmesan.

Sound ok?

I am a lover of fruitcake, it is just the best dessert that there is. But since I found out that it is saturated in rum or brandy, I have stopped eating it, for spiritual reasons. I was just wandering if there are any recipes out there that can create the same tasting fruitcake, minus the alcohol. Please help, i'm twitching for fruitcake.

Thanks

What are some healthy things I can make in my dorm microwave. Space is an issue here, as I have none. I'm also really not looking for instant stuff like cup noodles or lean cuisine etc...

I have had some from a bakery in Texas but it was not nearly as good as what I've had in the Philippines. The bread you can find here is made from yellow flour and taste more like American brown-and-serve rolls than what I had in the Philippines. I would like to try to bake my own if I can get a good recipe. My wife is from the Philippines, but I'm the one that does all of the baking at home.

While ordering from Outback Steakhouse, I came across the sandwich which was on a rudy roll. Is this similar to a hoagie/submarine/grinder sandwich bun?

For some crazy reason, Costco won't give prices over the phone. It's a haul to the nearest Costco, so I'm trying to figure out rough prices to compare to my neighborhood supermarket.

Anyone bought their big veggie tray, any kind of cheese tray from there?? How much was it?
