They are too chewy and the wrapper is too shiny. I could bury them in the garden but I fear a toffee penny tree may grow.

Does anyone remember the old Mars Bars and how do they compare to the ones you can buy now? I find the ones now are too sweet and sickly - same goes for milky ways. Why can't we have the old recipes back?

That dont contain hydrgenated oils? I use bisto to thicken mince in cottage pie, or if i have chickn breast fillets or steak. i cant use the juices as i dont do full joints. i hate the fact that bisto has hydogenated oils, and usually i avoid them at all costs. any ideas?

Before microwave ovens....The ones in the tin trays, with hideous mashed potatoes, and covered in foil? I just had a Marie Callender's frozen dinner...Dam! It was good! Frozen food has come a long way.

I know it has to be oiled but do you use something like olive oil? I also heard that you put it in an oven on low. It is my first wooden chopping board and i want to take care of it. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance

probably for my german buddies!

the other week when visiting Schloss Neuswanstein we stopped at the restaurant at the top of the hill, right below the castle... after lunch we bought some 'desserts' that i thought were called 'bavarian snowballs/ bavarian balls'. the were like tennis ball size and shaped 'donut-ish' things served piping hot with icing sugar, very light and had a lovely taste. Oh and they were deepfried like donuts..... but since i cant remember what they were called i cant google them.

Anyone know what im on about?? the german name, and a recipe, would be great!!
