You will need:
A chip pan (preferably electric - see above)
vegetable oil
4 tsp plain flour
2 tsp cornflour
a pinch of bicarbonate of soda
a small amount of milk
a Mars bar (I used a mini Mars bar, in the hope of retaining the use of some of my arteries after eating, but there should be enough batter for a full size Mars bar)
Method:
Place the plain flour, cornflour and pinch of bicarb in a small bowl and give it a good mix.
Gradually add small quantities of milk, stirring it in, until you get a smooth batter - you’re aiming for custard-style thickness for a good batter.
Dip the Mars bar into the batter, making sure it’s coated properly. Lift out, and allow the excess liquid to drip away then place quickly into the chip pan, being careful not to get your fingers splashed with oil.
The deep-fried mars bar is ready when the batter has browned (takes around 1 minute)
So… what were the results like?
Well, the first problem I found was that chocolate, when it gets hot, gets quite melty. All well and good, as that’s the point of deep-frying it and not totally unexpected. The downside to this fact though is that it had then melted around the mesh of the chip pan basket and was near impossible to remove. I managed to hack it off eventually with a knife, but it wasn’t going to win many awards for beauty. I was also very glad to own a dishwasher.
What did it taste like? Well, imagine a warm mush of chocolate and caramel ooze, surrounded in the batter you normally put round fried fish. That should give you a clue. The word “sacrilege” came to mind. It was very sickly and (in my opinion) a waste of a good chocolate bar. The idea of a warm and liquid centre appealed at first, but the combination became sickly and inedible after only a few bites. On reflection, it’d have been far less mess and effort to have just skipped the batter coating altogether and shoved it in the microwave for a few seconds.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to pop out to buy some Rennies…

I'm a Glaswegian, you need to put the Mars bars in the freezer before battering. This does help keep the Chocolate from melting too much! Happy eating! Mind you Baked Alaska is just as nice!

the mars bar must be chilled overnight in the fridge, dont try to freez it you'll break yer teeth! make a standard batter but in place of salt use sugar, remove mars bar from wrapper, toss in icing sugar, put straight into the batter and immediatly into the hot fat at 180 degrees centigrade, fry till batter is brown, enjoy with vanilla ice-cream......a word of caution tho...have 999 on your phones speed dial as too many off these will give you move than cavitys!!!! you have been warned

Dude, like that's the point man. They melt in the batter, like scrumptious man.
Dip the candy bar in doughnut batter or funnel cake batter. Drop into hot oil--should be at a rolling boil. Be careful not to splash the hot oil dude. Don't want a burn. Fry till golden brown, serve with vanillia icecream to cut the sweetness.
Of course you could always garnish with a scooby snack. lol

Hi! I lived in the South of England and they did a deep fried Mars Bar in the fish and chip shop of my village. I ate one and oh my God is it rich, not for the faint hearted. I know that its extremely calorific and caused a health scandal in this country because of it. Try the local fish and chip shop I suppose because alot of them do it. My local one even did deep fried Snickers. Have a good time anyway x

Custom to what snooksville said, us Glaswegians do not ALL know the recipe - however! - I did see it on the telly once and they refrigerated the bar first then made a really thick batter and think the oil has to be very very hot.
Alternatively go into a chippy and ask them to do it for you!

You have to flash-freeze the candy with dry ice before dipping in the batter and frying. As for the batter recipe and fry temp and time, I have no idea. However, it sounds way too sweet and rich to me.
