You are talking about BRANDS chicken essence right?
They are made of Chicken intestines and bones! :) Yup...My distance relative is a shareholer of Brands chicken essence. Basically, it is halal which can be consumed by Muslims.
These essence are brew with inexpensive herbs. They are costly because of advertisement. The good part is good for pregnant ladies and ladies having period (menstrual). Got it?

I'm assuming (??) you mean chicken bullion which is a concentration of chicken meat & some fat compressed into cubes or sold as powder or made into a thick paste. Salt and other additions like onion powder, pepper, etc. are common. Not sure that it is healthy w/ all the salt, but is an excellent flavoring agent.
