Okay quick because I need to figure this out. I have lots of garlic (3 heads at least), chicken drumsticks and thighs (about 3 pounds), lots of diffrerent seasoning, and chicken broth. Will it work because I'm really in a pinch for dinner tonight.

I have just been to Sainsbury's, first stop deli, free 'Orkut' taster, yeah OK, free good slice steak slice, very nice; carried on to shop. Returned to continue shop along the way, free piece chicken pie, nice; free piece cornish pastie, very good. Continued shopping, on the way back, free slice pork pie, very good, and to finish Hot(ish) free baked potato. Full up now.

I was thinking of a Glenfiddich 12year or a Glenmorrainge 10year, but I wonder about the Macallan or the Glenlivet.

I have also though about blends like the somewhat obvious Chivas regal or possibly dimple.

Thoughts anyone? I'm willing to spend up to about AU$65 but have access to wholesalers so I should be able to buy all of the above witihin this price range.

There are VERY few restaurants on the island but the home we'll stay in has a gourmet kitchen. We'll all be home for supper since there's not much in the way of a night life on the island either. Make them easy but fun. I have some seafood idea's and we'll do a lot of grilling so idea's for the grill would be great too. Please don't send me to links, I can do that on my own. I want your tried and true recipes.

I plan to drink it next year on my sixtieth birthday party, but I'm curious to know exactly what I shall be drinking. Apart from the fact that it is a sweet, fortified dessert wine from Patras, I've never experienced it. It's supposed to be special, Anyone out there ever drunk 1944 Mavrodaphne de Patras? This bottle claims to have come from barrels concealed from the German army in WW2, discovered and then bottled. It's in a very fancy wooden casket with an elaborate pedigree scroll. Wine originally made by the founder of Mavrodaphne de Patras Karela. Thank you.
