It's a classic symptom of anemia. I eat crushed ice all the time for the same reason. When you talk to your doctor, ask for a blood test. Other symptoms are fatigue and paleness. Be careful when taking iron suppliments as they will bind you up. Try eating dried apricots, raisins and orange juice.

It is not healthy for you to be eating ice from the freezer!

Feel free to suck on ice cubes, but the ice on the sides of your freezer contains chemicals, bacteria and possible food scraps.

I know it tastes different but STOP IT!!! lol

I think there is actually a word for people like you (no offence!), as I'm sure I've heard about this being far more common than you might think! It's like an addiction. I just can't remember what the scientific name for it was.

Strange cravings like that are not all that uncommon to girls. I have known of girls craving things such as chalk, dirt, and cigarette ashes. It often corresponds to an iron deficiency. You would do yourself a favor by seeing doctor. totally serious.

Everyone likes different things, you like ice, my friend likes peanut butter with her chips. No joke. i think she's mad, ice in comparison it's on a normal level. I'm impressed you like the taste, i just think it tastes like water, which i think is tasteless. but hey each to there own. Bring on the ice!!!!

You're not mad, but you probably have some sort of nutrient deficiency that is causing weird cravings. Talk to your doctor about it.

You probably are anemic. I craved Ice too. try getting a hawiian shaved ice I absolutely love those!

It runs through my family, my mum and sister both do it.

It is because your body is lacking nutrients. It is likely to be iron, make sure you taking supplements.

No your not crazy, but it drives me crazy when my mum and sister are at the freezer with their knife, crunchy away!!!!

if you crave ice, at least eat what's in the ice tray. i don't think the freezer ice is healthy.

This is quite common in people who have anaemia - you're not mad! Try taking iron supplement tablets, or eat lotsa greens!
