I planned on a simple white gown for my beach wedding in Los Angeles early next year, but i have fallen in LOVE with a beautiful antique lace gown that is heavily beaded etc ... im wondering if you think that a simple gown is best for a beach wedding or should i just go for the dress of my dreams??? thankyou :o)

Last week, my boyfriend proposed. I'm 23, he's 27. I was so happy and loved the ring. But a couple of days ago, I accidently came across documents and the recipt from the jewellers he got my ring from, and was shocked to find out the ring cost just over 10 grand. Worried he had taken out a loan or something, and would probably get into debt, I told him what i'd found. He then said to me "Don't worry about it, I used my savings". He'd saved up that money since he started his first job, and now most of it's gone. I know he was the one who choose to spend that much, but I feel so guilty everytime I look at my ring. I love my ring, but a ring isn't what's important to me. I want him to return my ring so he gets his savings back. I want him to spend the money on himself and do things he enjoys, as he's the one the earnt it. But I don't know how to tell him that. Am I being ungratefull?

OK, I know this is a shallow question and the weight/size of the diamond shouldn't matter when choosing an engagement ring, because its just a symbol of love and all but I'm just curious...
Please don't insult me for wanting to get her a big diamond.
It's not like I have a lot of money but my partner will be wearing this ring for the rest of her life so I want to get something considered heavy (in carats). How many carats do you think is average?

Okay, I thought I was the only one noticing this, but now people are coming up to me and saying that she is indeed copying me. I was married last year, and her wedding is coming up this spring. At first she had her own ideas (colors, schemes, etc). But a month ago she changed everything to be just like my wedding. At first I thought well I should be flattered right, it means mine was awesome (she was one of my bridesmaids). But now I feel like she is just being competitive (she has that personality). She started just switching to use the same church and reception local, fine they were nice places. Then she used the same bakery for the cake, fine it was yummy (she picked the same flavor) But now she also changed her original ideas to be the same colors i had and the exact same flowers (to a t), so now are weddings are exactly alike, plus half of the guests (and bridal party)will be the same. I know my marriage is what is important. But I can't help but feel frustrated. Any advice?

The daughter is getting married. Her Mother died several years ago. The Dad & his girlfriend have been going out for 3 months, seeing each other almost every night. Everybody in the family get along w/the girlfriend & they all get together often. It's a very large wedding, where should the girlfriend sit. Certainly not in the Mother of the bride's place? But where?

I don't want the traditional "Here comes the bride". My fiance and I are both rock fans, however I don't want anything heavy because our wedding will be in a church.

I am getting married next year and was wondering if it was tradition for me to get my future wife a wedding present. I would ask her but that would kill the whole tradition type thing and I dont want to mess anything up.

My fiance refuses to set a wedding date. We have been engaged for six months, and it is always one excuse after another. First it was that we were moving, then his mother couldn't fly out, then money. Now we need to iron out "problems" in our relationship. I ask him about what problems he is refering to, and he can't come up with anything. We fight just as much as any couple, about one argument per every 6-8 weeks. He has never had a relationship for longer than 2 months, and we have been together for about 18 months, so I think he doesn't realize that all couples have minor arguments and you just work them out. Grrr... What should I do?

One of my best friends is getting married soon and she's asked me to be her "Man on honor". Although I'm straight it makes me a little uncomfortable and I don't know how to handle the situation without hurting her feelings?

I am starting to look for blocking rooms for my wedding night for guests. First of all how do you know how many rooms to block and second if you ask the hotel to block too many (since I hear you have to sign a contract) and they do not all get booked are you responsible for paying for them? Any other information on blocking rooms that anyone can help me with I would greatly appreciate it.

We have a set budget. I'm cool with that and totally accept it.
Both rings are the same price.

I would rather have a setting that has center stone the carat weight that I want and not diamond (.5-.75 carats)

My fiancee wants to buy a diamond but the ring we can afford has a smaller carat weight (and I think looks funny on my finger because it's not in porportion). Mostly I think he is worried about what people will say about him if they find out I have a CZ or white sapphire instead of a traditional diamond.
