I found that ball-point gel pins work the best....
My invitations had texture to them (when you ran your finger over the paper you could feel it), so regular Bic pins didnt work well because you could tell where the paper was raised...
Sharpies, even the really thin ones used for writing, can spread through the paper fibers (like how they do on damp napkins)
Just give them enough time to dry before stacking them on top of one another...
If you are sending your invitations during colder months, you really shouldnt have a problem. Usually the most problems are during the warm humid months (I sent my invitations in North Carolina in August - hot and humid)
Good luck!

The best pen for one person may not be the best for another. It all depends on one's writing style.
I love gel pins...and they have them in SO many colors now!!! I suggest investing some money into buying different ones and write with each of them..... I can't see any other way for you to find that "PERFECT PEN"!
I wish you all the best and hope your wedding is all that you dreamed of and more!!!!!
~BEST WISHES~

Pilot G-2 gel pens are awesome. Sharpie ultra fine point markers are good as well, if you wanna try them. Good luck.

I used a calligraphy pen called "The Ken Brown Writer." You can buy it at any craft store such as Hobby Lobby, and it writes so pretty. Congrats!

try a biro. If this isn't what you're looking for, visit WHSmith and ask the assistant for advice.
Hope your wedding goes smoothly!

Yer I would use one of those types so as the message doesn't run in the wet and doesn't drip blood all over the place.
If that isn't satisfactory then use a shotgun and blast the message across the world to your guests.
