Well I got Engaged on the 16th of last month, and I am ready to set a date for the wedding, but my fiancee' doesnt want to even talk about it, heck or even mention the word's wedding, or marriage. I know hes a little bit alter shy, but everyone keeps asking us if we have set the date, and I keep saying no, and well we always get this look, or someone will say, he must not love you or he would be in a hurry to get married, but I know he loves me....I have an idea for a wedding date, but the only thing we have decided on is that it is probably going to be a fall wedding, and outside, but no date, or year has been talked about. So any ideas on how to bring the subject up kind of by accident, or just in passing?

With all the stress that a wedding brings, and all the problems between my mom & I, my mom & my future mother-in-law, and everything else everyone is saying to put their 2 sense into the wedding plans it has caused chaos between me and my future hubby. Generally I never feel like we are on the same team about everything. We fight because I am stressed and I make him stressed. I go to him to talk and to vent and it really seems as though he doesn't care. I am just a frustrated Bride that feels like her wedding is about everyone else and I feel like my groom just wants nothing to do with me or the wedding. Please tell me I am not alone on this, what can I do? Serious answers need only apply.

Prompted by a question by a bride wanting to con her photographer into a cheaper package, I am curious what everyone thinks.......I feel like wedding services cost more due to the importance of the day and stress involved. Weddings are much different from a child's birthday, usually there are meeting to set things up, potential changes, hysterical brides, etc. I think that's why it costs more.......there is simply more at stake.

I have read posts by budget brides who complain about the cost and I am wondering, why do you complain instead of shopping within your budget....even if it means having a friend do the pics or flowers... or even the cake? Why rail at the vendors?

Or better yet, pick the most important element to you in the wedding and allow for the 'best' in that area and then budget the rest? I don't 'get' how people with the proverbial 'champagne taste on a beer budget' can continually blame others for their inability to get the very best for the very least?

My fiance and I are getting married in September with only a few of our family members being there(30), I need to describe that it will only be a few people invited without putting intimate on the invite. Does any one have any suggestions?

I am getting married in a C of E church in july as my fiance is not catholic and he has family ties to the church we are getting married in.

The catholic chuch have basically said that if i dont get married in a catholic church they will basically kick me out as it breaks the "sacrament"

As you can imagine i totally disagree with this as the most important thing is that you are in a comiited and loving relationship.

Just wondering what other peoples views are on this

Hi all. I asked this yesterday, and I'm just hoping for some more ideas. For christmas this last year I got him a watch, and his favorite movie poster framed, and since its an older movie, the anniversary copy of the movie. He's not a really sentimental guy so the suggestions of the photograph with our wedding date and the journal made him laugh and he said um no. Help help help help help me. Thanks!

The wedding is August 18th. He just proposed a few days ago so we're just now planning.

Should we bother sending Save-the-Dates? When should we send the invitations? Some people say three months ahead of time but others say, "There's no way I'd remember that! Send it a month before." What do you think?

I've heard that it can still taste just as great if it has quality ingredients and I've also heard if you wrap it tight I will taste just as good on your anniversary. Does anyone actually eat their anniversary slice or just not bother with it?

I want to invite all of mine and my fiance's friends and family but the reason why we are going away is b/c we want something with no stress and carefree. However if people can come we dont have the funds to pay for plane tickets, or hotel accomodations. I cant figure out how to word the invitations to ask them to come but let them know they have to pay...

We want to stay in England, UK in October for two nights. Not too expensive but it has to be nice. We love quality food and wine. Cleanliness and peace are a must! We live in a seaside town so somewhere a bit different would be good. Don't want to stay in a B&B as want independence. Romance is high on the agenda! Someone must have a favourite hotel that would be perfect for us. Please help!

My boyfriend & I have been together for 8 years & just recently bought a house. We are both still young (he's 24 & i'm 22). The only thing is that he doesnt believe in marriage as he comes from a broken family. I have always wanted to get married on day or another, Do you think marriage is over rated? Because I really dont think it would change our realationship!

We're getting married in a garden, in late June in Fort Worth, so it'll most likely be hot. I don't want my guy to be miserable, so I'm looking for something stylish, yet not overly hot that he can wear during the ceremony. Our colors are mainly black and white, but I have several colors of flowers in my bouquet. I'm also looking for ideas for the groomsmen.
