I am the matron of honor. I am trying to throw a coed bridal shower and the mother and sister(maid of honor) are giving me hell. They keep taking over and cutting me out. First they said we don't need financial help from the other 6 bridesmaids. Then out voting me and picking a very exspensive venue for the shower ($3,000). So since they took care of the place Invitations was my job. When I tried to send invitations they decided they didn't like it so they went out bought new ones and told my friend(their neice) who is a bridesmaid that they wont be using MY invitations. I was livid. So the shower is in april. I feel like just showing up and not helping out now. what should I do ? Should I tell the bride?

I posted this question but I feel I need to add details and ask again. Here is the situation, I'm getting married in August. My maid of honor keeps asking me for a list of guests for my bridal shower. This is kinda tricky for me. I'm having a small immediate family (and grandparents) only wedding and then the big huge reception following. When I asked my mom whom I should invite, she told me all of my aunts and cousins. Wow, thats a huge amount and I feel bad asking people to attend a shower that are only pretty much invited to my reception. First of all I'm not big into the whole shower thing anyway but my maid of honor is soooo excited for it, and I honestly don't know who to invite. Any words of wisdom?

I am trying to figure out songs for the ceremony and for the reception, the garter toss, first dance, bouquet toss, cake cutting, entrance song, last song, and all of the songs for the ceremony, the entrance song for bride, bridesmaids, mom and stuff like that. I am racking my brain and need some help, I have some ideas but I would love some fresh ones!!! Thanks to all!

I would just like to know what the general consensus is on the matter. Once you buy a diamond it's value drops significantly. Is America just buying into this monopoly to retain their social normalcy? Or is it the sacrific of buying something so expensive supposed to be significant in that it shows how much you love a person?

She is still obsessed with him and says all the time that their baby will bring him back to her. She tells me and him both that she loves him more than anything and she thinks that when he goes to see his baby that he is over there to see her and he has told her in front of me that he is there to strictly see that baby because she can't let the baby go anywhere because it is a new born and the doctor said not to.

We've been together for almost two years and have an 8 month old son. We didn't get married when she got pregnant because we didn't wanna do it for the wrong reasons. We seperated for two and a half months and got back together a couple months ago and we're doing better than we ever have and we love each other more than we have ever loved each other before. Do you think I should propose now or see how it goes for a while longer?

Ok well my boyfriend and I are starting to plan our wedding.. My parents(mom and step dad) agreed to pay for the reception as long as we keep it to 125 guests and my "real" dad is paying for the DJ , photographer and videographer and his parents are paying for the bar ... well see the thing is he has 2 brothers and 4 sisters 2 of his sisters he is pretty close to but the other 2 he barely talks to the one showed up at our son's 1st birthday party brought her boyfriend and his kid who weren't invited and she didn't bring a gift or a card which you know if your really broke ok but at least get a card!!! and the other sister hasn't even seen our son he is 16 months old and she hasn't seen him or sent a card hasn't even called to say congratulations.. we sent invitations to her for my shower and his 1st birthday and every christmas we sent a card with pictures in it and she still hasn't even acknowledge that we had a baby!!

I'm planning a bridal shower for my sister-in-law and I'm sort of stumped on what prizes I should give out for the games. I need about 12 gifts and it's a couples shower, so something that both girls and guys would like. I was thinking about a couple of cookbooks maybe, or some kitchen stuff? It can't be wine because the shower is going to be in a church and no alcohol allowed. And the bride doesn't want me to give out gift cards (not sure why!) so that's not an option either. Thanks in advance for your suggestions. :)

Does anyone know how long it takes for goods to clear through UK customs? I've ordered 2 bridesmaids dresses from America and they've been in UK customs now for 4 days ( I've been using my tracking number). Has anyone had experience of this and if so, how long did you wait? They,ve been in customs now longer than it took them to travel from the US! The waiting's killing me!!! lol

A friend of mine is getting married for the second time and then moving from Europe to Asia soon after. I want to give her a thoughtful gift but it needs to be something she can easily transport and it does NOT need to be household related. I don't see her much as she travels a lot so I don't know her home-style. Any ideas would be helpful.

Freak out when they find out their fiance is going to a stripclub for his bachelor party? Seriously I have to know this because it actually sounds childish to me....I think that the only people who freak out about it

A....Have never been to one....Most of the goodclubs have a very strict touching policy so there is actually very minimal touching...but that does vary by the different women or

B.....Don't trust their fiances..In that case why are you marrying them if you can't trust them??

I have been to and like going to the clubs...I think all women are beautiful and sexy some are just smart enough to get paid for it!!!

They may take your man on stage, cuff him to the pole, and beat his azz with a belt but its all in good fun!!!! Your perspective??

My fiance's parents are not welcome at our wedding. This is a decision that has been made by both of us because of some very hurtful things his parents have done in the past. His ex-wife lives with his parents and they treat her like a daughter and my fiance like a dog. As just one exampe his mother at one point called and told us that his younger sister was paralized and in the hospital to try to get him to go back to our hometown because she wanted to see him. We called his sister to find out that she was at the hospital, but only because she is a doctor. Long story short, we will not change our minds on this. His mother will only ruin our big day by showing up with his ex or by making an *** of herself. How do I include my parents names in the wedding programs without including his? Or should I include their names even though they aren't welcome? I thought of saying "the bride will be given away by her parents..." Any other good program related ideas would be appreciated.

My fiance's (the bride) parents did give us a little money, and my parents are going to pay for about half of the reception hall. I know it is custom to put the bride's parents as the one's that are inviting people to the wedding, but my parents are actually putting up more money than them, and my fiance and I are putting up the most. I obviously don't care to put it from us, and I don't know how to not upset either parents. What should we do???

I moved to TX 2 years ago, and my best friend was not happy about it. She really took it hard. So last year she got married (in NJ) and I was not able to make it to the shower, but I was in the wedding. Now this year I am getting married and our relationship has changed. Since I moved and since she got married. It just seems like since I have moved our relationship has changed. We do not talk that often. maybe once a month. We do communicate over email. But things just feel different, we do not share things like we use to. I try not to think about it, but We have been friends for a long time, and I do not want to stop talking for something stupid, or because we are both not talking about the really issue. I told my finace about it, and he says do not stress, but as women we always stress over stuff.

What do you think I should, and do you think a friend changes when people get married?
