I am planning my wedding and so far there is a guest count of 250. I want to know if it would be rude to just invite our imediete family members to the ceremony and dinner. Then send a seperate invitation to our reception to aquaintences ( friends from work, people that we dont see on a regular). We will be providing finger sandnwiches, hors d'oeuvres, cheese and fruit throughout the partying. Unless I win the lottery, then EVERYONES invited!LOL

I know tradition says the groom cannot see the bride on the wedding day before they marry, but what about talking to her before? My fiance wants to know the answer so he can call me that day.

Me and my partner really want to get married but weddings are sooo expensive. Our parents won't pay anything - have you got any ideas of a cheap wedding?

We've been together 4 years, and it has been mostly great. I think about marriage a lot. But I am someone that needs to move around and be in a place where the outdoors is at my fingertips. She's moved with me twice already. The place I want to move next, I am super excited for, but she has decided she hates it. Neither of us has ever been there; I've based my decision to move there on job market, recreation, and housing cost research. Basically, it's a ski town that hasn't blown up yet, yet also has some urban character and is in the state I want to be in. She says, "let's move anywhere but there." I'm not sure how to respond to her--I've set my mind to going there; I've idealized it to the point where it would cause me great regret to not at least give it a shot. I know I would regret losing her over this, but it's coming close to now or never for us. Neither of us know specifically what we want to do for work--our careers aren't tying us to any particular place. What to do?

We are getting married at a park in Indiana. My big concern was where/how do we get sound there? Also what to do with parking? We are renting a limo, and thought that might be able to pick people up from place X and take to the park, but then taht was supposed to be for the wedding party. We have a restricted budget as we are paying for it ourselves. Also, what kind of permits do we need for that. The parks department told us we didn't need any, but everywhere I read says that you do. Also what type of decorations/ equipment rental do we need? Chairs are obvious, sound machine as well. We are going to use a arch way and use a unity bouquet instead of candle. Let me know what you think!

I am getting married in Sept. to my first love. We have known each other for more than 10 years and we have a 6 year old child. My dilemma is him, his mother and our daughter want me to have another child. My issue is I want to be able to wear the wedding gown I already paid for. I love them all to no end but they just aren't seeming to understand how much this day means to me. I would love to have another child after the wedding or even if we had an oops that was closer to the wwedding date maybe august or something. I wouldn't freak out as much because I would still be able to fit my gown.
How can I explain to them now is not the time to welcome another child into the world. Thank you in advance for all answers.

I was to be a brides maid in a wedding in July. However that wedding will not take place. I bought the dress form Alfred Angelo and of course i cannot return it, even though it hasnt even come in yet. It has not been altered and I also will never wear it.
Any ideas for selling it some where?

Upon our return we are going to have a big reception. I want to send out save the date cards for the reception, but I'm not sure about the wording since it's not really saving the date for a wedding. Any suggestions?

I want to buy my gf jewelry with a pink diamond because it's her favorite color, but they are extremely expensive since they only exist maybe 1% out of all the diamonds out there. I have found out that there are these new man made diamonds, also called "synthetic" or "cultured" diamonds that can be made pink. The news says that these are actually REAL diamonds (not zirconium or the other fake stuff) made by scientists that can replicate the natural process in a lab. Also, since they are man made, there is no chance of them being "blood diamonds".

Has anyone ever purchased on of these diamonds and if so where? Even though people can make them, they seem to all be sold out because the cost savings are huge!

It will be an evening wedding, so I am going for the simple yet elegant look. I've tried on both and look great in both. I am a short, size 6-8, and love the way both dresses flatter my figure.

I am trying to cut corners with the wedding to make it as inexpensive as possible. I am doing alot myself to try and save money. My parents agreed to pay for it but they are not real well off money wise and he wants to go to Davids Bridal to buy the flower girl dresses. He has one daughter and I have one and they are both going to be flower girls. I don't see paying 100 dollars and above for a flower girl dress when I feel as if I can get one cheaper. He wants to do David Bridal and does not seem to want to budge. I think it is unfair to expect for my parents to put out any more money than they have too. He said he would buy his daughters dress and I buy my daughters dress. Any suggestion on what I can do to get him to change his mind and look elsewhere??? Do you think I am being unresonable??? Please be honest...

I'm trying to decide between two styles of wedding dresses. One is more practical while the other is more fashionable.

Dress #1 is a strapless, A-line satin ballgown with a fitted bodice. Dress #2 is a satin sheath dress (slightly flared toward the hem) with a halter top and a low back.

Part of me likes Dress #1 because it wouldn't require "creative" shaping undergarments and I could just wear a strapless bra. I wouldn't figet with the dress all day, which is nice. My only problem with Dress #1 is that it reminds me too much of a prom dress.

Dress #2 is appealing because it reminds me of "old Hollywood" glamour and would be more form-fitting. I'm hesitant about Dress #2 because it would require double-sided tape or some outrageous bra. Also, I'm sort of self-conscious about my midriff so I would need shapewear underneath.

For background, I'm 24, just shy of 5'8" and basically an hourglass shape (proportional hips and, um, chest.) I weigh about 150 pounds.
