I don't think many people are going to let you borrow a wedding dress......

I just read your other post... Call Davids... they are having a big sale... and then sell your old dress on ebay to get some money back.

A wedding dress is too sentimental to "borrow". I did not see your original question, but if money is an issue you can use alternatives. I just bought an Oleg Cassini dress that is at David's bridal from a different online retailer for $350.00, at David's it is $1,100.00. I would NEVER let anyone borrow my dress! Think about what could happen. Some drunk jerk comes up to wish you luck and spills wine all down the front...what do you do then with a borrowed dress?

I answered your other question and now that I've seen the dress I think it's lovely (but I still stand on why you'd want to wear someone else's dress) but I don't think that, with the boning and detail of the dress, it will be able to be altered two sizes. Someone said 3 sizes - but dresses don't come in sizes like regular clothes...9, 10, 11 and 12, they jump a complete size. I had to buy my dress in TWO sizes bigger than what I wear in normal clothes (I almost started to wig out but I had to remind myself that it's just the way the dress was made, NOT my weight!). Anyway, I love the dress and if by some chance you can get it sized, then good luck. But If I were you, I'd just go buy another dress altogether or wear the one you have.

I insist, why would you wear a borrowed dress to your wedding. I would understand if it was your mother's dress or his grandmothers or something of sentimental value.
