What better way to start your wedding day than hearing the voice of your beloved saying how much they love you!
Last week I married a couple, in KY,who travelled 3 hours by car to get to their wedding destination. But after we got things set up, the groom got dressed & waited with me downstairs while the bride got ready; so the groom didn't see the bride before the wedding. I even asked the photographer to wait for the pictures.
And what a knock-out she was! The groom was goo-goo eyed. :) So wonderfully sweet.

In all the weddings that I have been in (as a bridesmaid) the bride and groom have talked on the phone the day of the wedding. Sometimes it's just necessary, other times it helps calm nerves. The tradition is that he won't see you in the dress, so I don't see any harm in talking on the phone.

That is by far one of the dumbest traditions around. What harm could possibly come from talking to your groom or your bride on your wedding day? Its just ridiculous. Tell your fiance to call you, see you, do whatever he wants to do to you on YOUR wedding day. Good luck to you.

As a wedding photographer I am seeing more and more couples choose to see each other before the wedding. You can arange an intimate meeting before that your photographer can capture. This also allows you to take more of those family portraits before the wedding so you can get from the ceremony to the reception faster.

Of course he can, that would be nice. Don't believe in the bad luck thing of not seeing each other. My man came to my mom's house for a family blessing before we went to the ceremony, and we've had the total good luck of being happily married almost 18 years!

I dont see why not. My husband sent the best man over to my house like an hour before the wedding. She had a gift for me, it was a beautiful necklace that I wore that day. Didnt care whether it matched or not it was so special. I didnt expect it. just thought I would share.

I think the tradition of not seeing each other is great and am planning on following it but I tend to have panic attacks and we have decided that we will call each other just to make sure we are both OK

It all matters on what you want. If you want to speak with your groom before you marry than its fine. I spoke to mine the morning of the wedding.

That's cute. The tradition says he can't see you IN YOUR DRESS before the actual ceremony. Nothing about him not seeing you the day before or even that day.
