I am specifically looking for a place that rents designer gowns. I don't want to buy on eBay, go to trunk shows, sample sales, seamstresses, etc...

My husband-to-be and I pays for our own wedding and we did most of our planning, getting dj, photographers, favors, cakes etc on our own.

At rehearsal dinner, both our parents will be there, his aunt and uncle, our matron of honor & bestman and 2 other friends. We know we need to give gifts to the bestman & matron of honor, what about the rest, do we need to give something too?

Just want to make sure we get this right. Thanks! :)

Okay so I am freshly engaged as of yesterday! Yeah for me. Anyways, I am trying to work out as many details as possible, getting ideas so it won't be crunch time and as stressfull. I am wondering how to find somethings, like the cake topper to match the invites I want from Children of the Inner Light. Also, can't find my bridesmaid dresses for that will match my dress that is white with black trim. Any good ideas are welcome! We have our site and date, Josh is just leaving it all up to me :( :) Any help would be great. Also, on photographers, anyone know of a cheap but great one in Wisconsin? Thanks in advance!

I was just curious as to what should take place first, the Engagement Party or the Bridal Shower? My fiance and I are choosing to go with an Engagement Party rather than a stag, so my family gets a chance to sit, talk and get to know him, rather than going with a stag which is more impersonal. Here is the situation: We are getting married mid Sept 07, he is American (I Canadian) and he won't be relocating here until July 07 permanently. It's customary that an Engagement Party involve both Bride & Groom and the Bridal Shower just the Bride, so I was wondering a few things. First if late June is too early for a Bridal Shower and if it would be ok to hold that prior to the engagement party? To me it makes sense to have the engagement party first, however we also wondered if we did the Engagement Party mid July, Bridal Shower mid Aug and Wedding mid Sept, if that's too "together". Any suggestions would help, either past experiences, or just knowledge of how it should go. Thanks in advance

Can a Catholic chaplain (a lay person, not a priest or deacon) conduct a wedding? If so, would it have to be a Catholic ceremony?

i want to give my husband something meaningful for our wedding (other than me being his wife of course) and i have no idea what to give him!! our wedding is a themed wedding, and i don't know if the gift should go with the theme or not. and i know things that he likes, but he has a lot of stuff already. and he is NOT the kind of man to wear a watch, or other related things. what kind of meaningful gifts have people given? and how many people other people gave thier spouses a wedding gift?

I met a guy at job corps last year, and recently he told me that he loves me. He wants to marry me, and I told my family about it, and my parents and younger brother says that I should just meet other singles people, and move on with my life, and forget about him. But, the haven't met him yet, and I love him with all my heart. How can I convince my parents and younger brother that he's the one I want to spend the rest of my life with?

I'll try to keep this short. I'm from Rhode Island and my soon to be husban is from Maine. We will be living in Mane after the wedding for good. I have planned to have the wedding at the place we met in Maine and have booked a reception hall and all. now my RI family is telling me that my Grandmother and Grandfather wont be able to travel to Maine but she HAS to see it. My father (parents BADLY devorced) is also not very well for travel either. My family wants us to have a small wedding at my GP's house. My husbands mother is also not well to travel, she has childhood diabeties and could never make the trip. I want the Maine wedding I had planned to be perfect. When would I even be able to do the 2nd wedding in RI? I obiouly dont want to go and do it on my wedding night or shorly after. But we start school again about a week later. I dont know what to do about all this. Any help? PLEASE?!

I have reasons to believe that my boyfriend is going to propose very soon. Does a simple "Yes" or "Of course" sound a bit empty or is it better than overtalking and ruining the moment. This is very important to me. We have been together for over ten years now and he is the man of my life. I love him more each day it passes. I want it to be perfect. Any suggestions? Thanks
